I'm not sure If I can post these here but I find these images rather interesting and I tell you why, I have seen a lot of images of German Soldiers shooting and executing people hanging them.
But when ever I have seen an image of some barbaric act it was usually Russians, this is one of the very first Images I have ever seen that  (as I always knew anyways) that German soldiers were extremely brutal and sometimes animal like.

After some minor research here are the facts of the images:

The pictures are said to to Ustashas,
But I must say the head chopping pic looks like a different uniform.
At the time of its founding in 1929 , the Ustaše was a nationalist organization that sought to create an independent Croatian state. It was formed in an environment of political repression that culminated in the assassination of Croat political leader Stjepan Radić. When the Ustaše came to power in WWII, it also had a military formations, the Ustasha Army (Ustaška Vojnica) who later numbered some 76,000 at their peak in 1944 . During the collapse of Yugoslavia in the 1990s (see Yugoslav wars), there was a certain resurgence of Ustaše symbology coinciding with the ethnic hatred that remained after the wars. Croatian law presently forbids Ustasha symbols and associated references following a measure taken early in the new millennium.

Even German soldiers were shocked by the brutality of these soldiers, they had very primitiv ways of killing their prey, one group killed a lot of civilians by simply bashing their head in with hammers, others used forkes knifes and other house hold apperatus.

I also like to study the faces of the soldiers standing around, what a nightmare that must have been for the guys who's head they chop off.

The images are black and white and not much gore can be seen, if you feel you cannot handle the images don't look.

That is what happens at wars. Had we a real impartial and realistic media, these images would've been played over and over when the thought of war goes through the head of the next knucklehead that takes over the White House.

Everyone does that when at war. When you put people in a constant "fight or flight" situation it brings out the worst most dreadful and animalistic behaviour you can think of. And we, Americans, are no different.

My grandmother said that for the most part the germans left the regular folks alone and behaved quite well.

One german soldier stole some chickens from her neighbour and he was publicly beaten up by an officer at the town center and then sent to fight at the russian front (aka certain death).

Those are "SS" soldiers which were are a little different in attitude from the regular German army.  In all armies there are good and bad.  However in the SS, they were the worst of the worst in many cases.

I did my junior thesis is College about the differences in the SS units. If you were General SS or Algemine SS u ran the camps. These were guys unfit for front line service or had been wounded in combat..many were thugs filling a job. They also filled the Deaths Head or Einsatzgruppen (German for "task forces" or "intervention groups") were paramilitary groups operated by the SS before and during World War II. Their principal taskwas the annihilation of the Jews, Gypsies, and political commissars. I grabbed some of this from the web. The Waffen SS units were highly disciplined combat units. U couldn't have a criminal record, had to show racial purity etc. The war on the Eastern front was a race war..all bets were off.

i'm guessing she was not in one of the occupied countries to the east of germany?

What's up with wanting to look at gore? That's some strange stuff to find appealing.

I read a book a long time ago about the SS and regular Army during WWII. If I remember correctly a lot of the army guys didn't like or agree with the SS and what they were doing and what they stood for. Hitler's special group of hate mongers carrying out the most despicable acts.

Still, i don't believe the majority of all germans were pure evil. Of course there are bastards in every group of people, but there are certain psychological processes that can bring out the worst in you.

I'd like to think we're all above that, but can we really say we would be immune to that?
