This isn't a one time traffic offense.  It's her 3rd time and she tried to blame it on her staff (not reading and explaining to her the suspension of her license).  She isn't 16 with her first week of driving.

In NY it's called an Aggravated Unlicensed....knowingly driving w/o a license.

When I was a young man i got like 10 of them and never did 1 day in jail.

I never got a DUI though so maybe that compounded it.

I wouldn`t be punished for what she did, nor would anyone else.  300 dollars to even a low-grade lawywer and you would get put back on probation or have extra community service.

She is ONLY being punished because she is famous.  People get assault charges all the time, multiple times and they get added probation.  Have you ever been to court?

I've been to court. And people who fuck up on probation multiple times often do get jail time.

Probation is there to keep offenders from reoffending. She reoffended toughly. Probation did what it does, put her ass in jail.

I think it is WRONG that she is in jail.  Total waste of money.  She has done WAY MORE GOOD, donating her time and money to lots of various causes.  Could she not serve more people by actually paying money to charities rather than waste time in a jail which is pointless.  Stop and think for once.  Leave your jealousy and hard-ons for retribution in your pants for once.  You only get one life to live and humans are putting themselves in cages for no reason at all.

I actually agree with TA on this one. Let me explain why this Paris Hilton case is a big one in my opinion.
1. I feel that any drunk driver when caught/tested should be :
a) found guilty and lose their license on a 1st proven offense
b) Min 1 yr in jail and loss of license for a minimum of 5 yrs for 2nd proven offense, etc

However, many reg joe's and janes have done EXACTLY whhat she did and get slapped on the wrist.
Being a the rich party girl poster babe hurt her in this case and the judge wanted to make an example of her.
Believe me, I am no fan of Paris and think she is a "joke" a celeb with no real talent (kinda like Regis and kelly hehehe).
I would prefer to see the attention on the seriousness of drunk driving and the consequences

I am not selfish.  Namecaller...only when provoked.  I did a figure show...what is that supposed to mean?  I did it for me, to get my self in shape and accomplish something I didn't think I could.  I don't hate Paris, I just don't think that "celebrities" should be able to get off from things that non celebries wouldn't.  If I had a dui and then got my license suspended and was caught driving around (twice) my ass would be in jail and there is no reason why her's shouldn't be.  She makes the judge wait?  WTF is that.  I'll tell ya what it is.  It's "Contempt of Court".  She's lucky she didn't get time for that.  Oh, and I am not poor.  I may not be rich but I am far from poor.

I have gotten like 10 of them as well.  I used to drive with a suspended liscense all the time.  I refused to pay a seatbelt ticket on the grounds that it was my personal liberty to NOT wear one if I wanted.  What I choose to do to myself is up to me and not the government.  So I kept driving with a suspended liscense and if and when I get pulled over, nothing would happen but a ticket.  It was too much of a hassle to NOT drive.  Driving today should NOT be considered a privilege, but a necessity.

If they want to give it a privilege status, than the government needs to improve the rail systems and train systems in america.

Lets face it, if you can`t drive than you can`t do anything.
