The weight only immediately comes back if you eat the same way you did when you started, i.e., you're still the same person.  It's designed to help change your eating habits.

$60/month...are you joking?  Of course people will spend that, they spend way more on diet fads, personal training, plastic surgery, etc.

How will taking a pill help you change your eating habits?  I thought the purpose of taking the pill was so you can eat the same old crap

A new over the counter weight loss pill promises users will drop pounds, but it's the side effects that have some local experts concerned.

The drug, which will be sold under the name "Alli", will hit store shelves later this week. The FDA approved the drug saying it does help people lose weight.

This drug Alli is nothing more than an OLD prescription diet drug called Xenical, that didn't sell via prescription, so Big Pharma reduced the dose by 50% and the FDA approved it for OTC use. (over the counter)

A total joke........humans are dopes.

7 pounds lost in 2 months is hardly something to be excited about.
like the other guy said, stick with ephedra and caffeine.

Stick with ephedrine, caffine and cardio.

is ephedrine a drug?  whats the deal with ephedrine.

240 there is no need to rush up things, it took you long time to gain 80 pounds naturally, you cant lose all fat overnight. you taking ephedrine?
i just eat less, and the fat is coming off 3 times faster, then when i gained fat.

yeah, that was actually on my local news and i just had to share.  7 pounds in two months.  That's just avoiding the third mountain dew with dinner.

even if he lost those 7 pounds, maybe he lost 5 pounds of muscle. i don tunderstand the people with scales. you should judge your progress by measuring your waist, try to aim to lose 1 inch every month, that way you know for sure you will lose minimum muscle.

Yes, it's a psycho active drug, as is caffine.

It boosts your metabolism and when combined with caffine, weights, cardio and calorie cutting, is the best for weight loss. And when taking ephedrine, you wont be hungry as often.  :)

The company also advocates wearing "dark clothing" while taking the drug...on the chance you may shit your pants.   A woman I work with is taking it so I read up on the drug.  I keep looking for the tarp on the floor around her desk.  She probably thinks her ass is looking Sweet because I glance at it every time she walks by...I am actually looking for signs of "anal leakage".

You too, without diet or exercise, could lose a pound a month and smell like poop.

In reference to spending $60 a month to look better...yeah, I bet I do.  But I draw the line at spending $60 to smell like shit :)

A new over the counter weight loss pill promises users will drop pounds, but it's the side effects that have some local experts concerned.

The drug, which will be sold under the name "Alli", will hit store shelves later this week. The FDA approved the drug saying it does help people lose weight.

It's news that has some intrigued.

Professional guitarist Marc Vee is hitting the gym and it's working.

"I've lost seven pounds in the past two months," said Vee.

When he first heard about "Alli," it got is attention.

"I'm always interested to find out what a pill like that will do because there are some amazing pills out there," said Vee.

This pill works by preventing your body from absorbing fat.

But pharmacists say the possible side effects could keep you in the bathroom.

"Loose stools, urgencies, oil stools. I've heard issues of people who feel like they have to pass gas and that's not what comes out," said Rich Lawrence, pharmacist.

In fact, some experts suggest if you take "Alli," that you keep a change of clothes with you.

They say the fattier the foods you eat, the worse the side effects could be.

After hearing all the facts, Vee reconsidered using the new drug.

"You have to function at work and - it might be risky," he said.

But it's a risk some people will take. Health professionals and pharmacists say the pill isn't a magic bullet. If you take it - you still need to stay on a low fat diet and exercise.

Patients are also advised to take a vitamin supplement because "Alli" depletes the vitamins A, D, E and K from your body.

Many independent pharmacies say they have "Alli" on order and chain stores expect to have the drug on shelves by Thursday.

The pill cost about $60 for a month's supply.

Wow, weight loss and anal leakage...AND it comes with a recommendation from a "professional" rock & roll guitar player???!!!

That's good enough for me, kiddies...

Here you go everyone...a quickie and then we can ask and answer questions tomorrow...ok, so #1 i my friend :-*, took Xenical and it cost me her well over a hundred a month...#2- No one is shitting themselves, it is the actual grease/fat that exited my her ass/hiney at times other than taking a crap...i thought the stuff she thought the stuff was weird, lost some weight but didn't follow a strict diet. If i she ate right nothing would happen, but if i she ate fatty foods, then it all broke loose...thanks God SHE'S taking Bronkaid now ;).

That is the intent but if you keep eating the same old crap you will keep shitting your pants...seriously.  I think that will make some people change the way they eat, or stop taking Alli.

It causes "Anal Leakage"....that is foul.

The drug company states something to the effect that it may prevent people from eating things with fat in them because of the side effects...like Anabuse for fat people.

Do you skip the Krispy Kream because it makes you fat...or because it will make you poop your pants?

mmm, leekage
let the games begin. People shitting their pants instead of doing 30 min of cardio, great stuff ;D
