Im a tall person and i have some difficulties i with lower back doing the squat.  but lunges seem to be a very good mvement for me. It feels good, my question is can i grow bigger legs with lunges. I can do those pretty heavy, 225 pounds, all the way parallel, withe the other knee touching the ground.. so thats 225 pounds of pressure on one leg. what about the lunges, good for bigger legs?? i need to bring up my hamstrings anyway.

IVe seen your pics, 225 isnt realistic for you to be lunging...

i swear i did those today, it was nothing for me, i did sets of 20 reps with 100 kg. thats 225 pounds right. i like this movement very much.  im very strong for my little phisique on a lot of movements. i can even do more than 100 kg im sure of that, i just recently started doing lunges, iot feels fantastic. great movement , no lower back problems at all.

100k of lunges is not hard at all man, i have more difficulties with 225 with squat, i got a weak lower back. I know its kinda strange that i can do with one leg as much as with 2 legs. you dont have to believe me, im not here to brag about poundages, my question is are my legs gonna grow  from lunges, i see a lot of pros do light lunges, but i think lunges are also good for mass.

hahahaha, exactly, maybe they're Ronnie Coleman lunges where he's basically just walking with the bar on his back. ;D

really?? thats fucked up man. today i did 20 reps, so thats 10 reps eacht leg. and  could ve done more, didnt go to failure at all. im very surprised that a pro has problems with 100 kg lunges??? :-[  

im weak at squat and bench, so i do close grip benches for triceps, i can do the same at that as with normal bench.

i dont get this reactions at all, if i can do 100 kg 10 reps each leg, then some bigger guys here can do it with more. whats 100 kg on lunges, dont get this at all, its too easy. true story

i never said i look so good, if i look like shit so be  it.  Ive seen your pics too before you took the juice, you was a 135 punds geek. You are a lot bigger then me now, but you cant do a 100 kg lunge, youre pathetic.

if he cant do that he 's pathetic i did 225 for a total f 20 reps, i did not try 20 reps each leg yet, but in a month from now, im sure i could. i just started this excersize seriosly. but were off the subject, this thread was about, can you build bigger legs with lunges.

i think its very alarming that no one here can do a 225 p. lunges for a total of 20 reps. bob chickeruilliuio should be ashamed also. its better to do lunges with the barbell on your back, you got better balance, people that do dumbell lunges look stupid.

the guy who looks like a silverback gorrila and has 38'' thighs does lunges with 185lbs.  So why is it alarming that amature and recreational bodybuilders can't do 225lbs?

haha that was dumb, ronnie already had a great mass workout for legs with legpress and squat, all the pro's dont use the lunges for mass building, they use it for definition and seperation. I already explained this in an other thread. You must be really dumb to think that ronnie cant do lunges with 350 pounds and more if he does it rightafter leg extensions. Wise up kid.

I want to do lunges instead of the normal squat. and to incorperate front-squats. And its obvious that you guys never do lunges, because you re scared to get under that 225 loaded barbell, scared to fall. But if you give it a shot , im sure you can also do it, its really not that big of a deal, just keep focused and balanced all of the time. Just dont put your knee all the way to the ground, then you re asking for trouble, with a load off weight on your back, the knee should get 1 inch off the ground.
