That's your answer ... Christopher Marlowe...  ;D

on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace sobriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona

Your truth, please, dp?

I still advocate bicycling.  If you get a decent bike and move the seat up as high as your legs extend and get toe clips and pedal with your tip toes, you will work every muscle from the waist down and get good cardio on the way.  Breathe in and out.

xL

yeah, no, I'm kidding, this is the 2nd best way.  Strenuous sex is the best.

De debil you say! Hey I like you better up here.  You're being wasted down there on the V.  Stick around.  :)

In general... I don't think strenuous sex does all THAT much for the glutes.  You'd have to go on and on... 4 sets of squats are faster and more efficient.  However, the quads do benefit from that um.... burn.  :D

I would be happy to provide some more specific information about my glute/leg training when I have some time in the next couple of weeks, once I get settled into a normal routine again following my competition last week.   I am still out of town (for work this week) and haven't even unpacked yet, let alone caught up with everything.   :P

For starters, though, there are THREE exercises that are ESSENTIAL for glute training and should be incorporated into every woman's leg workout IMO.  These are the three must-do's, the critical ones that will shape the glutes and hams...

1.  Free squats.  Not Smith Squats.  Just you and the barbell with whatever weight you can stand on there.  Good squats, nice and deep.  There are several variations that can be applied.

2.  Walking Lunges.   Not standing in one place.  Put the barbell on your shoulders and lunge up and down the gym.  Take the barbell outside and lunge down the street.

3.  Straight leg deadlifts.  Isolate the glutes and hams.  Don't bend down so far that you engage the lower back more than the ass.

If you only have time to do three exercises for your legs/glutes, make these the three you do.  They are better than anything else.

Also try to do as much of your cardio as possible on a stair climber.

:)

Thanks Rip.  Great info!

This part depressed me though I hate the stair climber :(  but I'll do it!

Rip's glutes  :o   :D  :

I'm only talking about my life style >>>every day for all your life exersizes.
10 reps squats work too if you need a fast pick-up the glutes.

Thank you guys and girls so much for all of the kind words about my butt!    :D

As promised, I will start a thread in the next few days with alot more specific information and details about my leg and glute training.

Until then, make the Stair Climber your new best friend, and be sure to incorporate those three exercises I recommended.
This will get you started on developing the coveted "Apple Ass."

You can also add split squats (single or 2-legged), step-ups, reverse hyperextensions or if there is a glute/ham bench you can do glute/ham drops.  There are many things you can do for a great butt.  Good luck.

Ya, the reverse hypers and GHR machine is hardcore gym stuff, damn good. Wont find that stuff in a lot of comercial gyms. Run some stadium or building stairs too...

Doesn't have to be strenuous, ...just regular.
Not saying is the best for glutes... just that it might help with the thighs.
And even if it's not the most effective,
...couldn't hurt to include it in one's quest for overall fitness.  :P

Au contraire Deedee, it helps the mind. if it helps the mind, it helps the body, cause you can't properly build your body when your mind is all stressed out. Ipso facto... it's a most beneficial thing. Work with me on this one.

Yes, thanks very much!

And I agree, strenuous sex is always a good way to shape the legs and glutes....esp if you are sure to do it standing up, bent over, and stay on your tip toes.   :D

I am now modding the women's BB section, so I will start a glute/leg training thread over there as soon as I get a chance.

Well, and I did forget to take into account how much the "culmination" of prolonged sexual congress can also contribute to well-shaped glutes and calves too, although in an isometric kinda way.  :)  I stand corrected.

I was talking about efficiency... but I see your point.  On the other hand, there's something to be said for fast and furious.  In the end, it's like ice cream.  It's all good.  ;)

Usually, if given the choice between squatting and hacking or doing something called the "wheelbarrow"  I think I'd pick the latter.  :D

david paul... you are posting on the girl board? Why now? Just curious...

I would say hack squats, dead lifts, and many backward hacks...

I am sorry; but I do not know how to perform hack squats. How do you perform backward hack squats?

Thanks,
Mimi6
