If true (and I'm inclined to believe it) Benoit was obviously suffering from short man syndrome.  Bodybuilding, it seems, attracts many many insecure men.  I read the paragraph below on another forum; it looks as if it could have been written by Benoit.

I've gotta be honest, that's something I've been fighting with for the last few years.  I was a skinny kid (who wanted to be huge and hated myself for not being) that finally got introduced to lifting at the age of 19 by this huge 290 lbs. powerlifter on roids in my nutrition class (yeah, of all things). We hit it off and he taught me how to lift properly but before I even set foot in the gym he offered that he could get me anything I wanted and would teach me how to take it. He graduated and we split ways and lost contact before long. I'm 21 now, been lifting a little more than 2 years. Lift hard, it's all I think about sometimes. I weighed 165 lbs. when I started. Weigh 215 now. Went up 2 shirt sizes.  Never used any real gear. Don't think I'll need to. Kind of wonder what'd happen if I stayed in contact with the guy. Doesn't matter that I've caught up to the guys in my gym in their late 20's that've been lifting for years that I used to feel intimidated by. I get antsy sometimes. Not big enough... Not strong enough... And I have to remind myself that I'm a youngin' and still inexperienced and that I'll probably get what I want in a few years. But there's still that voice that whispers to me every once in a while trying to get me to stray from the path.  I hate having bigorexia sometimes.

Benoit was 5'8" (some sites listed him as 5'10"). That's average height. But, in an industry where many stars are well over 6 feet tall (Undertaker, Batista, Kane, The Great Khali, Cena, Edge, etc), perhaps Benoit did feel a bit short.

I just watched his movies, because of Blutos passion of course. I didn't find them good at all. Did you really like them?

his son was mentally retarded

I thought smaller kids using gh was pretty common so what's the big deal?

If it was a medical issue then a doctor should have been administering the drugs, not his dad.

I spoke to him on two occasions he was 5'10" same height as me. He was jacked , and crazy intensity in the gym, that evening then he had to leave to go wrestle that same night.

He was shooting GH into his son because he wasn't big enough at 7 years old, they're saying in the news.

Stop believing all of the DUMB SHIT The media puts out...Clearly they are trying to demonize Benoit, because his death was a "HIT" and not a murder as they claim. You will hear all sorts of nonsense in the near future about this manin an attempt to "COVER" the real culprit. Don't be surprised if someone in the wrestling federation is responsible for this...Time always reveals the truth.

basty...when they prescribe GH to children they give you months worth. it is administered daily, sometimes more than once a day...

i dont see anyone in their right mind running their kid to the doctors office 14 times a week :o :o

and i certainly dont think a 7 year old can administer it to himself.....ergo, dad does the injections for the kid...quit fishin'

you know, I was fortunate to train beside chris benoit many times, which came after the steroid abuse part of my life.  We exchanged hellos each time, but as I sit here, I often feel like Chris might feel as if he is to blame for the condition of his son due to the hormone use during his career.  Having to live with that maybe there is a chance that his hormone use could have allowed his son's condition, Im sure it was a dagger in his heart at times, along with all the other problems.  I hate that this has happened, because now my own girlfriend is believing all this "steroids are the culprit and the reason he did this" and is now looking back at my past..................sa d thing is, that she is black and I always felt black people were raised not to judge or call the kettle black, so fastly.  This is just a shame in all aspects.

its amazing how the collective public opinion of a man can change so much in 24 hours..

the other day I was praising Benoit, now, given the details of what happened, I think he is one of the most despicable people I have ever heard of...

your kidding right...You sound like Bill O'reilly...I know a drawf who has been giving himself shots since he was 14...HGH shots have to be taken daily...Do you really believe that people go to a doctor for daily(harmless) shots...Besides that you do realise that millions of people everyday give themselves inslin shots...

inslin is 100 times more powerful then growth hormone...Inslin alone can kill you from one shot...Growth hormone is not a deadly drug...inslin can be...

Yes, explain to her that you only use steroids to "compete".  Otherwise, you wouldn't take them. ::)
Steroids are good and healthy.  There really are no downsides to them and the media is completely off tilt even suggesting they aren't great.  Believe it or not, most well rounded intelligent business men use steroids on a regular basis.  After all, it's what most up standing citizens in society swear by. ::)

any drug can be abused, but the way the media presents it, you'd think anabolic steroids are worse than every recreational drug.

Benoit was both an athlete and a performer.  Both are known to use stimulants.  Why isn't the media talking aobut that?
