Which is better using a barbell or using an ez curl bar for skullcrushers??

EZ bar is far superior for this exercise adn FAR less strain on the wrists.

Might also consider a tricep bar for SC's. Or a curl grip over a regular grip, from time to time. Will not use as much weight but will get a whole new feel from the exercise.Good Luck.

EZ bar. you might also think about using DBs if your elbow hurt.

whats a triceps bar??  in the gym there's only EZ bars and bbs, right??

Best bars for extensions:


-Triceps bar AKA hammer bar

-"super e-z curl" (different from regular e-z curl, better for tris)

-End of one DB held with both hands.

I like the straight bar the best, the last year or so my elbows have been hurting pretty bad from skull crushers with an EZ-bar. Once I switched to the straight Olympic bar with a thumbless grip I have no pain.

This is a great idea.  REally blasting the weight on this single joint isolated exersise is a killer on the elbows.  Ease up the weight, go with a curl grip or use DB's.
