With the discussion of all the Pro cards being given out over the past several years it brings up the question... What happens to all these girls after they turn Pro?

How many just fade away and never compete again? (Name some names if you know of any)

How many struggle in the Pro ranks trying to make Top 10 year after year? (Name some names if you know of any)

How many girls seemed to dominate NPC shows on their way to their Pro card and then just never live up to their anticipated potential as a Pro? (Name some names if you know of any)

ME.... hahahaha and my reason for not wanting to continue...

1. I dont want to take the drugs..and granted that not every person is on them.. I doubt the top are not on anything.. I have been there and know the dealio

2. I rather make real money than fritter it away on 2k suits and the hope of winning the O which would net 20k.. when I could make that in a month.

No not you... you made a name for yourself in the pro ranks, you were a real threat to alot of girls.
I'm talking more girls like Jaime Franklin (poof gone), Casey Watts in fitness (poof gone), or Michelle Flake and Jeanette Freed who were always neck and neck at NPC shows then they get their Pro cards and after a few shows Flake vanishes and Freed although still around can't seem to get it together.

In defense of some of these ladies, I think that life happens.. families... careers.. if only we could make decent money doing this... and now with so many ladies and an even better gene pool it gets harder and harder

Wow! This is the disappointing list!
First off there are girls on here who have only been on stage once or twice and their a disappointment?
Secondly, I will say this Stephanie Collins is the one of the most pleasant people in the sport. She seems to never get upset about her placing and looks to have more fun than just about anybody on stage. You know maybe Steph has really figured it out and we all could learn something.

And Lastly, I'm sorry but Elaine Goodlad?

Disappointment ain't never looked so GOOD!!!!!!!

It's not a personality contest, chief. Maybe she has reached her potential. Who besides Stephanie has only been on stage once?

Elaine Goodlad looks good in the magazines but on stage she never matched what she's done off the stage. That was the question, How many struggle in the Pro ranks trying to make Top 10 year after year?

Well DC, we can tell you are not real familar w/ these girls at all.
Steph has been on stage a number of times. My point was that it comes down to what you think disappointing means. To me Steph is a bright spot in the sport and far from a disapointment.
Who on your list how bout Cory Mathews? Give the girl some time she will do just fine. Elizabeth Lamm had some quality callouts her rookie year, not having a great 2007, but she will be the first to tell you she's still trying to figure out some things and she to will place wll soon.
As far as Elaine Goodlad goes you say she has never matched what she has done off the stage AHHHHH what the heck does that mean. What were your expectations of Elaine? Did you follow her through the amateur ranks? No what you are basically saying is she is drop dead gorgeous as a model and has not been able to duplicate that on stage, which one has entirley nothing to do w/ the other.
All I am saying is they all made it to where they are now, not everybody can place top five at every show, but they are all far from disappointing.

You're not the sharpest tool in your shed are you? What happens to all these girls after they turn Pro? How many times has Steph been on stage as a pro? I'm sure she's nice, never met her but she is everything wrong with figure when you see her contest photos and in her two piece. Corry Matthews has been on stage a few times if I am not mistaken and as soft as a hostess twinkie. Exactly what I am saying about Elaine. She is a super model off stage and done far more there then on stage. What's her highest placings? Compared to her off stage accomplishments. DISAPPOINTMENT. Not everyone has the right connections is what you're saying?

Alexis Ellis is in School. She will return when Done. Alexis Competes to promote her business. She has only done two shows, and will do more!! if the small amount of Publicity helps her in some way. The Prize money is no incentive.

I admit Denny's list is pretty good...
I personally would remove Corry Matthews & Stephanie Collins because they are just to new to be disappointing yet. It wasn't like they lit the NPC on fire on their way up, so they still need a chance to develop as a Pro.

Elaine Goodlad? That's just crazy putting her on the list... she was consistent Top 5 and higher for several years which is a damn good record... The main reason not to be on the list she WON the California Pro show in 2004.

I forgot about Ali McKnight and Jen Hartley... definitely they make the list.

Zena is a good one for the list since her placings just seem to keep sliding down.

Amy Peters, ok, extremely inconsistent placings, in that category I would also add Christine Wan.

Good list so far Denny... any more?

I do agree with you, that I have not brought my potential best to the stage. Perhaps I came close last year when I was top five - twice. However, I've been busy being a full-time mother to a baby-turned-toddler. My priorities and focus have been elsewhere. My daughter is now just four and a half. I turned pro in 2003. Do the math.

As for Elaine...has everyone forgotten that she WON the California Pro in 2004? Only once, I think, did she place outside of the top ten. And that she is 43 YEARS OLD? If it seems like she is not competing up to her potential, then I would say it is by choice. Perhaps competing against women half her age and being judged onstage, in a bikini, by a panel of strangers, is not as appealing as it used to be when she was, say, in her late 30's (like me).

Jen Searles went from like 15th place to top 5 the next show after she signed with him as well.

Elaine had a pretty good career. Extremely pretty.

Tara Scotti always placed high, but she has been training at Bev and Steve's for a long time.

Christine Wan can look good sometimes, but very inconsistent. Looks good 1 show, and terrible the next.

Our resident Dina Al Sabah was a threat back when Figure first started and there were only like 10 girls competing, but once she tried to get on stage with more competition, she was not even top 10 material in small shows. In her defense, she is 1 of the prettier girls on stage, and because she has a heavy internet presence, she is very popular. From what I heard from other people on this board, she is not as sociable in person as she seems in the online world. I guess none of are though.

Shannon M, ( can't spell her name ) her placings always seemed to baffle me.

It's amusing how people find faults in those who place well. Tara is a no BS kinda girl and her placings were deserved.

Dina is sociable and anyone who isn't a social misfit would be able to have a conversation with her. Most people are much friendly in person than on the boards. If you didn't approach them with your photos of them from their last show in your 99 cent binder you might get a better response.

I'd say there are far more fitness pros that fail to reach their potential or are a disappointment in the pro ranks. There really hasn't been anyone who came out of the am. ranks and shook things up in the pros. Your top 5 contenders have been the same for a few years now.

Your right. I just like to give my opinions. And to play Devil's Advocate, I have never seen pictures of Tara on stage and out of shape. She is always in great shape. I just would have felt better about her placings if she didn't have any connection to the NPC/IFBB mafia. At least she didnt sign with "that weird guy"
