I think Beast is totally correct, Layne's 495lb for 5 is strong but 495lb for 7, continous and even with a few pauses while maintaining strict form is rediculous. When was the last time you saw anyone do that? I think your just lookin at numbers and seeing 495, but forgetting in that style that Jay does it, takes incredible strength and is nothing like just lifting 495lb off the floor for a few times
Matt is a cool guy the website is decent but i gotta say everytime you review something it seems you always bring up you or your training partner...im not saying you do it for every video review, but a lot of them there is usually something
"think it's possible to do this and keep your sanity, but some like Jay and myself will not get frustrated with a bland diet like this."
"At first it seemed as if he was no stronger than me, but I was pretty sure this wasn't the case. The 100 pound dumbbells were just a warmup and he quit way before failure. "
and for Gunter's Star Power you went off on a craig titus meltdown
"At home, Gunter cooked a post workout meal and proved to be quite the chef. Nutrition is a great bodybuilding expense, and Gunter looked to be eating properly and have on hand all the necessary ingredients for muscle building nutrition. I heard talk that Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan both ate a horrible diet, and given Craig's recklessness with drugs and his horrid lifestyle in general I don't doubt that. On this topic, and I think it's an important one: Gunter Schlierkamp is everything a bodybuilder should aspire to be, and Craig Titus is everything that a bodybuilder shouldn't aspire to be. Craig was and still is a complete disgrace to bodybuilding and I hope he rots in jail for the rest of his life. I don't have a well formed view on the death penalty, but in general I am against it. Either way, I do hope hte punishment fits the crime for Titus and he remains in jail should he be found guilty, and so far I have every inclination to believe he will be. Gunter on the other hand, is a role model in the industry and we need more like him around."
There are others but I mean come on dude!
