THe B&W or Jill Brooks (?) is a great photo.
SHe has outrageous lines and the B&W contrast really brings them out.

He (Gene) has a unusual eye for contrast, even in his color work.
I bet its not easy to get in front of him for a shoot.

I agree, Gene has a great eye and always manages to get the awesome shots.

Here are a couple recent shots of IFBB Pro Karen Zaremba, who just crossed over from Pro Figure to Pro BB and made her BB debut at the Europa.  I thought she looked really great.  Her abs and vascularity are very very very impressive!

Karen's abs are some of the best around.  That pic inspired me to get serious about my ab training again.

Gene actually does have a photography business outside of women's physique photography...www.orange exposure.com
In addition to working with ftvideo and taking amazing physique and contest photos, he lives in San Fransisco and does photos for weddings, special events, portraits, etc.  I would have KILLED to hire Gene as my wedding photographer.

Let's just hope that he stays in the physique photography business too.

Rip, does it generally take him a lot of time to set up a shot, or does he just pop them off fast?


His attention to lighting and contrast is awesome.

It makes or breaks outdoor shots esp.
 Beach and snow is a real bitch, but the shots are SO cool if you can master the lighting/ exposure speed.
Now and then I get lucky on those... but mostly not..

Gene works pretty fast.  The shoots I've done with him have been about an hour or so.  He has an incredible eye, and he can pretty much set up a great place to shoot, etc. as soon as he sees what you are wearing, no matter what or where.  He can figure out the best angle for everything...and twist and contort himself, climb on things, hang from ceilings, whatever...he gets the right shot.   
He also has an awesome camera LOL...I mean AWESOME.  He shoots stuff on "burst" sometimes, and it takes like 8 pictures a second, so you can pick the best shots.
