so i'm low carbing and decide to cook up some calamari....i mixed in some veggies etc, and ate about a pound of the stuff....it was about 80 grams of protein.....


MY question----how "good" is this kinda protein?  Is it bioavailable enough,  cause man, at 2 bucks a pound, it was tasty as hell and i'd eat it more if certain that i'm getting enough protein

i have no reason to believe that it would be any worse than any other type of protien as far as it being bio available.  I dont have any idea how you can find that out for sure.   All protein found naturally in food is better absorbed than protein from whey.

yeah....it was just a NICE switch-up from the normal chicken, tuna, steak, etc etc

Where are you finding that at that price? If you cook it in a pain with olive oil and black pepper and mixed veggies, it's REAL good! You getting the arms or just the cut rings?

I went to Krogers and it's in the frozen section by the fresh market fish area.  It was 2.99 for the package, which was a pound.  Had both the tentacles and the mantle (tube like body).    SOOOOOOO tasty!!!

Stuff is hard to find....gotta ask for it...its usually in the frozen fish section in a white/black package.  NOT THE FRIED STUFF

I dont' want the fried. It's like shrimp. You eat a pound of corn bread for just a taste of it. A lb of calamari without the breading is alot of calamari!

were you able to find it?  The manufacturer is "BayPrime"   .....krogers carries it, but its hard to locate.  GREAT stuff man!!

sure it is, i don't think the amino acid profile would be any different than any other type of fish although squid might feed on different shit than other fish but maybe not who knows, all i know is when that shit is breaded and dipped in a nice marinara it's fuccking awesome but that's coming from a greasy dago like me.
