Toad of the month?

This is my pet toad. He lives in the leaflitter in my girlfriend's garden and his name is Dominic Santiago.

He's pretty good, as far as pets go. I don't have to feed, clean or house him. In fact, his only requirement is that I don't run over him with the lawn mower.

He did, but I haven't seen him for a week or two. I suspect foul play and there are three likely candidates:

I hope he wasn't one of them Buffo toads or poisonous ones!

I bet this frogs pretending to be an Ice road trucker that has a heavy load to get to the diamond mines while the roads are still open

Funnily enough, she is the prime suspect. She's an ex-stray and does like to spend her free time decimating the local wildlife population.

My previous dog (Keesha) used to get high off of garden toads

That looks like it could be a toad of the genus "Bufo" to me.  You'd need a picture from the top and the side to be sure.

I think #2 did it in the garden with a rawhide

Correctumundo, Vet. It's a Common Toad (Bufo Bufo).

We are all praying that he will return safely. Well, when I say "we", I mean me. My girlfriend and her pets are completely ambivalent about the little fellas disappearance.

It's the not knowing that's the worst thing.
