On the track the evo is the better car imo. An evo will crush anything in its price range, and many cars much more expensive on the track. Nothing in the evos price range left stock is as quick as the evo on the track. Also when you get into modifications for racing the evo is far easier to make extremley fast. The evo fq in europe has 400 hp. It hung with a lambo gallardo on top gear when they raced. That is pretty impressive considering the price of the car. The new evo x should plain old crush the sti once and for all.  The x looks like it will be a pretty cool car.

Not saying the sti is not a fast / comparable car. Of the line they are about equal. On the track the evo is better imo.

I know enough that the two cars are almost identical, down to the fact that the stock cars engines differ by 1-3 hp, if that. Do you know who anything about cars?

The Evo's better on the track because the STi has notorious understeering. I'm not talking about the new Evo, I'm talking about the 04/05 that this kid probably owns. At that point they were nearly identical. So, put a little work into the STi and *gasp* it will probably beat an Evo! "Smoke" wasn't the right word. Beat, however, fits.

Man, plus Mitsu engines are unreliable. Had a Friend who had a Evo MR, crappy reliability. He wanted to seriously buy my IS300. And if you up the horsepower, talk about getting a rebuild. Then the interior...you're reminded that this car is based on a econobox. But for cheap thrills nothing's better

Well.....you are wrong!!!
Mitsubishi claimed an 280 bhp for the evo but in reality they had 300 bhp and sometimes more right out of the factory.
Why was that you say? Well little nicky that was because Japan has a law which says all cars must have a speedlimiter of 180 km and they can not have more than 280 bhp in their engines!!!
Thats why the evo smacked scooby ass almost 9 out of 10 times....like i said..you know nothing about cars but thanks for playing....
