He plans on introducing a resolution to remove term limits on his presidency. The measure will also severely limit the authority of elected governors and mayors.

The aim of the overhaul is “to guarantee to the people the largest amount of happiness possible,”  according to his communications minister.

I asked a simple question? the subtext in your post implied your major displeasure with the man had to do with his purchase of Russian military equipment. I was simply asking for a clarification of your views. Unlike you, I do not read a simple statement or cherry pick a fact, and create an entire backstory to it. Next, you'll be having me planning a wedding to the man. Take a valium. please & thank you.

ps: As a member of the US military, I think it behooves you to pay more attention to the trampling of human rights in America before you run off complaining about threats to America. America's enemies at home (on Capitol Hill and throughout the beltway) are more of an immediate threat to America than Chavez has ever been, ...and more possibly ever could be.

Not so much what ???  I'm laughing my ass off at the setback this causes the elite globalist scumbags with some "ancient plan" to dominate the world.  Will it stop them, no ::)  I'm sure they'll have their little Ruler of the Galaxy dunce capcrown someday and you can be happy when all the world and beyond is forced to bow to their every desire as they reign in a 1000 years of tyranny freedom for all.

It is never ok.

Regardless if he supports USA, Sweden or whatever.

If he is anti-democratic, and a dictator, he needs to go.

Anyone with true democratic values will realize this in the end, I hope.

I question your intelligence with such remarks Hedge. How you haven't realised she has few democratic values before now is a travesty!

Total lack of education and knowledge on her part, making moslems the victims EVEN WHEN THEY'RE NOT. My post is the last and is still awaiting her responce. Jag, could you oblige and respond?

People like Jag are very dangerous because they are very vocal and make victims out of the wrong people which hurts us all in the end.

Holy shit... Not that you could tell from any media source because they all seem to be aligned against Chavez, but this is not remotely close to the truth.  He's proposed ending term limits and wanted to have terms at 7 years and it looks like they're going with 6 years. He will be there indefinitely if the people want him there, if not then not...  But the original post of this thread pretty much sums up the propaganda reported in 99.9 percent of the media... ::)

Hey! I resemble that comment! >:(

I posted some other shit in that post, too. He not only proposed an end to term limits, he is attempting to institutionally hobble opposition  and usurp and consolidate power from other government factions. It's obvious that Venezuela is edging towards a dictatorship.

Do you have a valid reason Americans should not judge what's ok now based on what the next progression can be or what is possible within the current change?  I mean because there's a pretty long goddamned tradition of doing this and for good reason.  Change most often occurs in stages and I don't care what you say, there is every reason in the world to say, whoa bubba, I don't like what can be done with this or the possible next progression after things like the patriot act, homeland security, enemy combatants, torture, etc etc etc...  It's our duty today to guide our country where our next generations will be born into.  There is plenty to indicate alarm within our current direction.  The only people who want you to focus on today are usually the people asking you not to look at tomorrow which is pretty fucked up.  Why the hell would we not want to address these things when virturally every other intelligent decision in our lives require us to do exactly this.

Oh and who right there with your sand comment ::)  If anything you can blame that on this president's insistance that the military bare the full brunt of the war not requireing any sacrice from the people.  that's all these warmongers and we both know they've done this because even more people would wake up to what bullshit it is if they were required to sacrifice.  So the ones who have their heads in the sand?  Yea, Bush and team neocon not only wanted it that way, they would like more of it...

While Bush and his team have not communicted the threat as effectively as they should..the media has picked up the slack. They did a poll in 2004 that mentioned the draft 14% were for it..thats the lowest in history, since 1917. Nobody cares....its not Bush/Repubs at war...its this country....and right or wrong they need to sacrifice.

Bullshit...ok maybe they have spoken that fact, but neither side means it. Not if they wanted to get elected. Hitler was marching though Europe in 1940 and FDR was reluctent to bring up the draft because elctions were coming up, he only did so because the Repubs thought it was a good idea as well. Nobody will dare give this serious thought. Nobody in power..because nobody cares...it a war over there.
