well I can guarantee two sales. one to myself and one to you.

I think the D.L.5 & Milos Unity Tour would be interesting t-shirts.

chimps, this diet is the best way to burn fat and preserve muscle.

Dreamer needs to lose fat....this is the best way to do it. He will keep ALL his muscle and gain strength.

once he does lose the fat, we add carbs in.
I understand what you're saying, here, DL. But this guy's a total rookie, with no real muscle to speak of, and I think by getting him into ketosis (and toothpaste-like shits, etc.) is probably not a good idea. Guy needs to start eating well, with lots of protein and medium fats/carbs and get some help with his training at the local level. It's that simple. Not easy, but simple.

you are correct.

to slaveboy, i agree but this diet as i is engineered SPECIFICALLY (if they tweak it out of the guidelines they fuck it up) is perfect. once u lose all the bodyfat u want, u then add carbs in certain amounts and keep adjusting as u go.

to dreamer - if u can eat canned salmon go for it (no flavoured ones they have carbs)....i avoid tinned fish i think it tastes like shit.

na..this guy should avoid extremes. he should diet for sure, and when lean add mass without getting fat again (which is a slow process for a natural..but thats how it is)

but give him something simple. put him in a caloric deficit of 500 calories (250 from food restriction and 250calories burned from cardio) and keep at it until weight loss stalls and if needed increase caloric deficit...

protein at 1.25 g or so per lbs bw as he is dieting (instead of 1g /lbs bw when not dieting) then add in 40-60g fat and carbs accordingly.

then put him on a simple 3 day per week schedule with almost daily cardio.

consistancy is more important than complexity. simplicity often facilitates consistancy.

to slave and chimps...well said. very good points.

I say we'll see how he goes, if he has trouble with it, we'll flip it...from current feedback he is breezing with the diet.

How long do you plan on continuing this little charade?  ;)
What charade would you be speaking of?

He thinks you're a gimmick.  You haven't posted a pic holding a Getbig sign, nor has Ron vouched for your authenticity.

Are you really "breezing" through your no carb diet?  I'm usually ready to kill for a plate of pasta after a few low days.  How's the lifting and cardio intensity?

Currently i just feel tired. Just wanna sleep. Really hard to concentrate. Unless i'm in the gym. Well i did sprints on saturday and it really fatigued my legs. So i've only been able to do legs once this week. Considering i'm on bill stars 5x5 i'm pretty annoyed. Cardio is fairly easier, its getting up, thats the hard bit.
My cardio is 1 hour walks before breakfast. So i shouldn't get fatigued like i did with sprints etc. Trying to figure out a new training routine. I'd like to go 5 days a week. But with my diet i think that will just lead to over training.

As far as me authenticating myself goes. I'll take a picture with a get big sign i suppose. But if you cant wait that long just pm Ron. I'm sure he will clarify it for you.

i VERIFY ITS HIM.

In regards to low carb diet, this isnt low carb its no carb. his body is not using carbs for energy any more it is using fats so his moods will be great and energy steady and always full.

low carb diet makes u feel this way because ur brain is expecting more carbs but never getting them (makes u feel like shit), this diet ur body is using fat for fuel, getting fat for fuel and no insulin swings.

No he won't.  Slow consistent progress over years is what he can expect.  He won't look better in a week, but he'll look much better next year.  He's going to have to make his peace with that, as will all the kids who expect massive results instantly.  Tortise and hare dude.

Btw, your name cracks me up.

I think a no carb diet is too extreme, some carbs (and fibers) will not hurt him.

No harm in trying.
If i feel it is to taxing on my energy etc i might change it. But i felt crap while body was changing fuel sources from carbs to fat. But i'm starting to feel better now. So this diet is good good thus far.

It is actually not extreme at all. low carb is extreme. but this isnt he is using fat for fuel...he will have an abundance of energy. his body wont want carbs it wont need them

I thought the brain functioned mainly on glucose.  Also, what about glycogen replenishment?  A 5 x 5 powerlifting program on a zero carb cutting diet seems unusual.  Even DiPasquale's Anabolic Diet allows 30g of carbs/ day and a weekend carb up.

You know we're just keeping you honest DL.  ;D

Dreamer - Don't operate any heavy machinery son.  Still think you should answer my quesions in the "Yo Dreamer" thread.

Speak on this some more man.  Did you feel fatigued outside the gym when you were just lifting and not doing cardio?  Do you wake up unrefreshed in the morning or have difficulty rising?  Very tired in the afternoon but unnaturally awake late at night? (I've noticed your posting hours)  Any cravings for salt or sweets?  Low blood pressure (dizzy or spotty vision if you stand up too fast, etc)?  Poor balance?  Sensitivity to cold?  Dark circles or puffy under eyes?  Bruise easily?  More accute sense of smell during stress or excercise?

Lots of kooky questions, I know.  Just curious if any apply.

Are you keeping Palmubo honest? Well he is right and true.

In regards to doing the 5 x 5 routine i didnt recomend that and i dont believe he is doing it anymore.

I have researched all diets, read the actual journals and studies, read the analysis and formulations of everyone from gurus to people who talk out their ass. I have also personally done All diets so experienced it from low cal not many meals, low cal many meals, high protein low protein, low carb, higher carb to keto.

in regards to 30 gram carb per day, he will be getting carbs indirectly from his fat sources and remaining in ketosis. Also the carbs he has stored from his cheat meal once per week and the indirect carbs will be more than enough to fuel his workouts. this pisquale fellow is very similar concept if not the same. stay in ketosis and once per week have a carb meal (this dirties the metabolism and revs it up and also gives carbs in storage for workout).

If i had my way he would train Mentzer style once per 5 days-7 days. At the most 3 times per week, whether on keto or other diet. If u know how to train u dont need more than that otherwise u are just doing low intensity shit (but that is another story and training theory debates never end so i let all do what they want).

In regards to energy levels- energy levels are more stable on keto diet ur brain loves to use ketones for fuel, also no insulin swings. also with low carbs ur brain is expecting more carbs, doesnt know if its getting them, and then eventually doesnt get them or as much as it wants...hence the feeling like shit and mood/ energy swings.

oh and the bit i forgot to mention - ketogenic burns the most fat and preserves all muscle. our aim is to burn fat. so this is the number one diet for this purpose.
