I'm surprised that Fox didn't edit him out somehow.

  He's got my vote.

He definitely got the biggest "pop" from the audience.  Though he spoke well in addressing all of the things that have gone wrong, I don't feel that he delivered any solutions.  It was as if he were there to just complain.  I know people can identify with that, but it doesn't help us if we don't take it further and come up with a solution.   In the end, I found Ron Paul to almost come off as angry and bitter, which turned me off.  It reminded me of some of my clients who I manage projects for in our status meetings.  There's lots of complaining and finger-pointing going on, but no solutions are getting suggested.

I thought Mike Huckabee won the exchange that he had with Ron Paul.  I felt like Huckabee won the overall debate for the night, but was impressed by Duncan Hunter, and (dare I say it  :-\) John McCain.

The spin at Fox is unbelievable when it comes to Ron Paul.  He is constantly and viciously attacked by the likes of Hannity, Chris Wallace, and Brit Hume.  I don't know if this is driven by actual fear or outright hatred.  I've always been of a mind that if someone is so wrong on a particular subject(i.e., Fox's perception of Paul's Middle Eastern policies), why would the opposition want to shout him down in snarling anger?  Wouldn't a calm and rational explanation be able to disarm Ron Paul?  Obviously not at Fox news.  Nothing but agenda-driven trash from news networks like Fox and CNN.  But in the age of the free market and where "everybody is a reporter", the truth is all around us.

Ron Paul is in a rather unique situation.  He is despised by the Neo-Cons, ignored by conservatives, and hated by liberals.  Although, the hatred from liberals is a lot more subtle, as I find that many of them find Mr. Paul rather amusing and get enjoyment from him throwing a kink in the typical Republcian diatribes.  I say hated by liberals is that many of his ideals go entirely against the grain of what liberals(socialists, in modern terms) believe in.....smaller central government, dissolving of major governmental entities, greater state rights, mass privatization, and of course, the refusal to pander to weird and hostile special interest groups such La Raza, NAACP, GLAAD, etc...

He has zero chance because the establishment will see to it.  Unless the corporations hone in that he will essential be the death blow to our government paving the way for their complete rule, but it's not like they have much of a problem getting their way with every other politician so I doubt he will stand a chance.  I have no doubt that his low marks in the polls is bogus as hell.  But hey, he's been bumped up to 2%  ::) despite the fact that he's reaching savior status on the internet...  One hell of an occomplishment considering the anger at the republican party in recent years. not just myspace either.  I have never in my time seen this much talk over someone polling at 2%  seems off to me...

I read some of the transcripts of the debate.  We have Ron Paul and a gaggle of know-nothing yes-men.

In the spirit of John Blutarsky, What the fuck happened to the Republican Party I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you on Iraq Ron, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Romney, he's a dead man! Huckabee, dead! Guiliani.......dead.

That goes for that snarky piece of shit Chris Wallace too.

Two things.  I'm hungry (my says that I'm an A-hole when I'm hungry) and I'm filled with righteous anger.  I'm a little tired of all these candidate pretenders that are nothing more than followers pretending the Iraq ordeal is a worthwhile even justified endeavor.  I see a constitutional crisis, death and destruction and what kind of leadership are we promised:
A bunch of tap-dancers that couldn't feign true leadership if they had guns to their heads.

Anyways, this post was meant to be funny but accurate--that's why I used the Animal House quote.

LOL

It does get old.  That's why it's good to step away from the topics from time to time.

His low marks are because no one is going to vote for him.  I saw my first Ron Paul bumper sticker the other day.  Today, in one of the spots anti-war protesters gather to hold up homemade signs, there was a Ron Paul rally.  Less than ten people.  A few signs.  Some of them looked homeless.

I have yet to see any evidence that voters will get behind this guy.

Did great in tonight's Republican debate on Fox.

You know our republic is FVCKED when the canidates that make the most sense (and no backing from big corporations) have ZERO chance becoming of the nominee.
That in itself, speaks volumes of the state of our democracy.
