hahahahhaa, 500 grams you guys must be absolute BEASTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahhaa, all kidding aside i remember reading Tom Prince saying in Flex that there isn't a human being on earth who trains hard enough to break down enough muscle fibers to need 500 grams of protein a day and 500 grams was the exact figure he claimed and he was a guy with 10 times as much muscle as the average bb'er.

look Milos is a good guy and a great bodybuilder but no one needs 500 grams of protein unless they're eating literally ZERO carbs or fats and even then you don't need more than 350.

i never counted my intake but there was a period when i took loads of protein and my sweat was smelling as ammonia, a sign i was taking too much protein or too less carbs and the last wasnt the case.

same thing happened to me

even 350 is a lot... anyway i gues it's relative but most people who say they eat that much protein are fatties...

Very hard, very expensive, very time consuming.  Post your diets where you are getting 2g per pound of body weight.
With all the c0ck you suck...500g shouldn't be too hard for you.?

funny thing is that you think its hard to eat 500g protien a day,,your body doesnt know wether you give it liquid or solid meals,,it dont care either,,liquid meals you will have to eat every 2 hours and solid meal every 3-4 hours,,if you sit on your ass all day long doing nothing you can eat both type of meals every 3 hours sometimes even 4,,

10 little carton of egg whites papetty usa foods = 500 gram protien,,in usa it is about 2-3 dollars per one little carton and that means you need  to spend 25$ a day inorder to get your 500 gram protien and at the same time you can be vegeterian and eat no meat! if you dont like taste of pesturized egg whites you just add into it crystal light poweder pink lemonde taste or cranberry caffeine taste thing that has caffeine in it and zero sugar,,that make those eggwhites taste like heaven,,mixed with spoon and its real food not protien poweder which is also ok if you want to add it sometimes

you just got here over 500gram of protien a day for 25$ with out eating even one single meal of meat or fish

saying all that,,you still dont need more than 1.75 gram protien per pound for growth to happen,,sometimes even less,,2 gram per lb should be plenty and you beter be on hormones while takin 2 gram per lb

I bet Shawn only ate when he felt like it, probably only 200 g per day when he was competing.  anyone have input on this?

Also, 25 bucks a day= 750 bucks a month on food alone, seems kinda steep...

if your only source of calories is protein; and your consuming 350 grams of protein; that is only a caloric total of 1400 daily calories.

yes.
350 grams is all you need if your only consuming protein.... ::)

I though the body couldn't use anything more than 200 grams in a day? 500 grams damn

LOL, the body can utilise up to 2 grams of protein per pound, if your on roids its 2-2.5 pounds and if your natural 2grams.

I actually have to agree w/Candidate on this one.  Not that eating that much is necessary (unless on hormones of course) but it simple math.

350grams at 4 cals per gram = 350 x 4 = 1400cal.

That being said, unless you are very anabolic you don't really need more that a gram per pound.  If you are going to increase do it gradually.  1g per pound, then 1.25g per pound, 1.5g per pound etc.  Just jumping into 2g per pound is hard, try it for a week and you'll probably quit, plus you body won't be used to the drastic change and like coach said above, you'll just end up $hitting it out.

So does Flex... ;D

For a natural, even 350g is far more than you need.  The largest requirement I've seen in peer-reviewed scientific studies on weight-training athletes is .75g/lb of lean mass.  If you want to be safe and to keep it simple, up it to 1g/lb of bodyweight (unless you're squadfather-like fat), but for a 200-lb guy that's only 200g max.  Although I haven't seen studies on AAS and protein, it makes absolute sense that a gear-user would require more, since AAS increases protein synthesis in the body, but these idiots like Dante Doggshit advocating 400-500+ g/day for a natural are full of it.

Exactly.  It's a complete waste for a natural bodybuilder to use more than 1 gram per pound of lean body mass unless precontest dieting.

Steroids will definitely increase the rate of protein synthesis but even then more than 1.5 grams per pound of lean mass is probably not necessary unless dieting.
