To answer the calf question, I built mine, they were naturally High, I worked on bringing them down and splitting the heads on the sides.
Something I paid close attention to at the "Beginning" of my career not the middle or the end as so many of the guys try to build them later to no avail.
I saw the mold Chris Dickerson left for me to follow regarding what can be done building calves and I mimicked his routines from day one.
Darrem, Dexter, Melvin: it seems a bit late in the game, they are all over 37 and I doubt anything will change for them at this stage. $:-\$

I haven't trained calves since last Oct.

When I did, I did 5 sets seated - 5 sets standing
Pyramid the weight up ea set.
* 3 days a week
* 2 days Hvy 12 Reps
* 1 day Medium 20 reps

Dugdale wont be top 5 neither will Hide both very good but there is too much depth this year. $:-\$
* Freeman vs Wolfe will be interesting comparision, each capable of beating the other.
* I believe Martinez will beat Dexter again this year for the 3rd time in less than 1 yr counting last years Olympia and this years Arnold.

The question is if Melvin, in two weeks, can drastically improve his physique, whereas Darrem Charles, and J. Jackson peaked in the last two weeks. It is nice to see David Henry back in the Olympia, he was recently married, and is pretty cool this year.

Too bad on Chris Cormier and Troy Alves, perhaps the Ironman next year!

Wolfe in the top six... now that will be interesting... over Badell....

Yes, this year, starting with the Ironman Pro show in February, we talked, and he has been very cool. So has his wife. Each show I saw him, more and more outgoing. I think he has changed, has learned that when you are on stage, or offstage, you represent, and fans comes in all shapes and sizes. I am the first to admit that, yes, he was quite arrogant last year, but this year, he is a changed person so far.

He's a crowd Favorite & unfortunately....he's got a physique that the judges like to see sometimes.

Actually it was Chicago in 1996. I sensed you were in a good mood that year after placing 2nd. This picture was taken after the breakfast question & answer session the morning following the contest. BTW-Your calves were excellent. You built them up w/hard work & they were definetely "Diamonds".

Hi Shawn - I agree Dugdale won't be top 5. I said he could crack top TEN if he dials it in. The IFBB claim they are rewarding symmetry more, SO how can they not top ten him IF he hits his trademark conditioning ..... Hey, I know LESS is MORE in bodybuilding now, but Once a year calf training??!!!!!!!
