GPL NO MORE
« on: September 24, 2007, 07:05:32 PM »
I learned that GPL was part of the "Operation Raw Deal" that went down the other day. I waited before I posted this until I got 100% confirmation that this was in fact the same GPL that many of you are familiar with. The whole situation is really huge mess. Those of you who are familiar with GPL, DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY COMMUNICATION!

Further, I wasn't going to post this part, but it's already all over the news, the owner of GPL did in fact take his own life after the situation transpired...this is sickening and tragic to say the least.

RIP GPL, our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

You're right, it does suck! What's even worse, he was truly a decent guy and I guarantee you the media is going to absolutely crucify him in the weeks to come.

It's unbelievable the way the media, as well as our own government works. You can be a pro baseball, football or basketball player, be involved in an attempted murder (Pac Man), get caught with rec drugs, i.e. coke (50% of all these guys), rape women (the NBA), beat your spouse, or just be an asshole in general and in the end, you'll still be viewed as a hero, or at least glorified in some manner in which you still succeed simply because of who you are. All the while a guy like GPL, who did far less harm then any of these individuals, will be labeled a monster in the media. And on top of that, our own government will label his demise as a triumphant retaliation against "real" crime.

Yeah at 9/11 Osama Bin Laden sends a video out threatening the USA families and children and instead going on chasing that man
They are chasing steroids dealers... well I have never heard of explosive pills blowing up on a bus full with innocent people or much less flying vials crashing on building
And that’s just the least of it.
Yeah crime life is really worth, but not if you’re a steroids dealer…you have to get yourself in to more heavy shit…

Maybe its time for a new revolution....

Here is some info I just came across

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/ny-lister0925,0,5095543.story?track=rss

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/2007/09/25/2007-09-25_lis_milliondose_man_picks_suicide_over_t.html

Man, It really is eating me up inside that he would do this.. Very selfish for his family, He was a big guy too who would do fine in the joint, and what was he looking at? 2-6 years? He would probally roll on his suppliers and cut it down to 3-4 and roll out in 18 months with good behaviour? ? ? ?

Who knows?

This whole thing blows.

While I'll agree it's hard to ever condone one taking his own life, people need to at least understand that there are many times other factors that come into play...this is one of those times IMO and no I will not elaborate. Why? Simply because this would be extremely disrespectful to his family who is already suffering more then they should.

Think about it, maybe a family loses a loved one partly due to a criminal act they committed. In most cases disclosing all the negative info would be rightfully deserved, i.e. the individual was a rapist or murderer. In this instant, no fucking way! GPL broke the law, this is a given, but for starters it's a law many would disagree with, but who would disagree that rape is an improper law. Further, what he did that led to this arrest was in no way harmful or demoralizing to one single individual.

That's how I see it.

I get your point AJ, and also completely respect his family and am truly sorry for there pain and suffering for years and years to come. And you are right, we don't know why he did it, it very well might have been out of protection to his loved ones.

My family had also experienced a loss to suicide and as hard as it is to deal with a loved one that is gone, it is even harder to live with the unanswered question of WHY?

My sincere condolences to Chris's Family.

Been thru that to. The dammage done to the ones left behind is imeasurable.
Some do it for just that reason (Suicide to hurt the survivors), The person I knew didnt, and I doubt this man did either.
Perhaps he was looking at (or thought he was) way more prison time than than we think.
Regardless, its a decision that cant be done over.

Life can seem like its real F'ing bad. Usualy that will pass. Think about how misserable you have been at some point and the great times that have allways followed.
I feel bad for his family too.  His "Crime" was selling what even the nerd politicians in suits refer to as
"Performance enhancing drugs". By deffinition they improved peoples preformance, not imparied it.

The liquor store owners and ciggaret peddlers will all go to church come Sunday dressed all proper and get
respect as upstanding members of the community.
Thier $300 hr CPA's will get them as close to $0 tax as the law allows.

Our country makes not much sense anymore, and we are even charged dearly to export this insanity.

This is fucking tragic. I'm not sure who that GPL guy was exactly but I can picture the situation pretty well.

I'm actually disgusted with the whole bodybuilding scene right now.

Feels pretty bad considering it's been my passion for the last 10 years.

I didn't know Chris well enough to understand what other issues he was dealing with.

He stopped regular communcation some time back, which is why I stopped recommending him as a source.

In one of his last e-mails to me he said he was busy moving and looking forward to getting married.

Evidently there was much more to this story than anyone really knew.

His wife knows, but we'll never hear her side of this.

Chris was a decent guy from my business dealings with him.......

I tend to think he, like many others, fell victim to this game and the toll it takes on any one individual.

Instead of running the game, he became part of the game.....

He lost.    :-X
