Triceps Injury
« on: October 12, 2007, 05:21:23 AM »
I was doing heavy skulls crushers as my final of 3 exercises for tris on tues when on rep 7 I felt my long head shift as if it had been pulled over the bone. It didn't hurt per say but was very disconcerting. I pushed the weight back up so I assumed from that ability that I didn't tear it. All the muscles are still attached  and I was left with a deeply bruised sensation in the area ever since (4 days). Last night I noticed it was a little swollen as well. I'm assuming my muscles spasmed and tightened up on me thus producing the tight, bruised sensation. Any thoughts? Any similar experiences?

I've had a few of these. Besides good warmups, i found that keeping the reps a little higher and the weight slightly lower had a beneficial effect in avoiding undue strain on that area.
