I just mean I can understand someone not wanting to test their strength.I know people who have lifted heavy weights many of time and then one day using a normal weight they tear a pec or rip their shoulder out. Any time who are pushing 6reps or lower (when your fresh) your putting alot of stress on your joints.
I doubt he got the 12 reps easy if he even did it, probably had a few half reps.
I doesn't matter if people believe it not...I got 12 full reps with 315. My wife said she had to give a slight pull on the 12 rep (although I did not feel her pull).
When I say I can gain 2 reps on my heavy set of bench per week I am referring to eating right, working out hard, and being on some sort of analoblic agent (Superdrol in this case). I have also lose 2 reps in a week if I don't eat enough calories, do to much cardio, do to much delt work, cutting up, etc.
The questions is legit, I've heard from alot people that say if you do Bench Press don't go above 315 because of the risk of a pec tear. Most of these people seem to believe that DBs or Inclines are safer.
MOS - Yes in my life I have went above 315, on my second heavy bench set I've done 4 reps with 365 (I weighed about 240 at the time), however I've only done this maybe 2 or 3 times) I have only maxed out once and it was about 4 months ago and I got 405 at a body weight of 205. I keep thinking that if I tear a pec then I'm going to have all of this weigh coming down and crushing my chest or head. Like I said I heard of this guy that tore his pec with a max out at 385, the people that saw it said that the entire pec just fell. I believe the guy spend a shit load of money having his pec repaired (money that I don't have)
