but then it comes down to how much csn needs and going to failure etc and thats anyones guess.
at the other end there's mentzer and co who believes you might need up to 2 weeks to recover and that would disqualify the 3 times a week program too
pre exhausted is debatable, what if the arms are pumped and therefore you cant train them properly, surely that isnt beneficial
or would shoulders after chest really for as well as doing shoulders first when you're fresh.
im not gonna get into mentzer and a general discussion of training theory but i will say this:
i certainly believe you can work your triceps after chest and get good results...
or biceps after back. sure you wont use the same poundages but it wont matter. remember im talking about 6-9 sets per body part...not 20.
that being said..i never liked chest/shoulders/tricep workouts...(done in the same workout)
when i use a 3 day split i do:
chest/arms
legs
back/shoulders

nothing is written in stone tho..alot of training routines work. for
me training 3days a week has given me alot better results than working out 5 days a week.
its also a question of what mentally suits you .i feel more "hungry" when i dont workout 5-6 every week...
i rather have 3 quality workouts than 5-6 half assed workouts in a week.
its really easy to find out what works best tho...just try it and then you will know.
