hows it goin,
                  just need some input. I weighed 286 about a year and a half ago and I got sick of looking like shit (I was always somewhat in shape until about '02, guess I started geting lazy)  anyway, I've been bustin my ass and am down to 196 and I just started lifting. any input on diet, what I should be lifting ect... would be helpful.

how tall are you? what have you been doing to drop that weight? %bf? what are your goals?

   I'm 6' tall with 21% bf. At first to lose the weight i just stopped eating after 12 in the afternoon until someone told me id eventually gain it all back due to slow metabolism, so I started eating regularly and did start putting on the weight for a while. but i've been eating whole foods, cut out the fat and no more fast food (sub shops , mcdonalds ect....)  I also stopped drinking soda, beer, and alcohol all together except I went out drinking the other night and got myself into trouble but Im back on routine again.  I also run at the college track near my house every morning before work and every evening when I get home 5 days a week. and now Ive been at the gym lifting m,w,f. but I really need a plan for lifting, I know how I want to look but I need advice on how to get there.

*concentrate on eating 6 small,clean meals a day,every couple hours*
*4-5 cardio sessions per week 45-60 minutes each*
*if your lifting 3 days a week maybe try Mon-CHEST/BACK  Wed-BI's/Tri's/Shoulders  Fri/Legs*
*keep your lifting sessions fast paced...without much down time....and keep them under an hour*
*lots of water*
*multi-vitamin/multi-mineral*


just a few suggestions...some may disagree...consistency is the key! good work dropping all that weight but dont ever go back to that not eating bullcrap!

        thanks bro, first real advice anyones given me! I'll work this plan and keep everyone updated on progress.

i dont know what kinda weight your aiming for, but cardio is more important than lifting weights when trying to diet obviously so keep the weightlifting routine simple dont complicate things and be tempted to do too much too fast. took you a while to gain all that weight, and it will take some time to get rid of it... a basic routine of working your whole body once a week, spread over three times as suggested is fine. you just need to be able to fit cardio, weightlifting and a new diet in your daily schedule week after week, month after month and make it a routine so its not a struggle all the time... if you can do that and stick with it, the result will come.

oh yeah congratulations on your weight loss so far, thats some big weight you lost there!  :)
