Thanks for the update Chic.  Tom was always a total freak looking bodybuilder I'd always wished that I'd met- glad to see he' still doing well.

I bet the place is a dump, no offense to Tom, but properties are pretty expensive in California, and I doubt Tom had the money to get anything decent. Long Beach is a really high crime area. But good luck anyway.

as long as the rent roll covers the mortgage and he makes a profit what does it matter?

You're saying he bought into a 14 rental building or he bought the building?  If it was 1.5M for the whole building that does sound like a bit of a dump.
