what a bunch of bullshit. there is a list of terrorists, and potential terrorists. these people used to do as they please, and we would know nothing about what they were doing or where they are. the patriot act was created for them, and them only. not for you. nobody here can honestly say that one part of their privacy has been effected.

maybe it hasn't...but I think the point is that it could be if the wrong people were in a position to abuse the authority..I don't think anyone thinks that they honestly do violate our rights as much as they think that they COULD if they chose to. That's my opinion anyway.

ok lets say a DHS agent "abuses" his power.. what do you mean by that? what actions could he do to constitute abuse? do you mean like tapping into someones phone line just for fun?

HOLY SHIT! I just watched that video.... Was that guy ever invited back to Fox News? I doubt it... I am blown away that this was aired on Fox. I remember quite well everyone on Fox getting all bent out of shape at progressives and many others attacking the patriot act with those same words... And for all the people calling Alex Jones nuts, these words by this guy were right out of Alex's rants.

Until one of u guys is rounded up..I'd stop worring about the patriot act. I would expect Bersek to be free to continue his anti NE Pat/Chavez love fest in relative peace and saftey.

Anthrax arrived on the day before they were to debate the Partiot Act for a televised national audience. At the exact building. Also mailed to the media heads, and dem senators, who were most opposed.

The FBI destroyed their own samples immediately so there could be no comparison. Identifying anthrax strains is easy, and they would have found the source quickly.

I don't like the Colts, but I really hate the Patriots so yesterday, I was rooting for a team I normally love to see get beat

plus it's just fun to watch a close matchup even if you don't like the teams.

I do find it oddly convenient that there are so many Colts and Patriots fans out there, maybe I should become one too

Did you even know that anthrax was the sole reason the patriot act (planned and completed right BEFORE 9/11 mind you), even passed?

The Act was so intrusive that even after 9/11, it was going to get demolished on the senate floor. But, conveniently, anthrax shut down the building and they had to vote without debating it, or even READING all of it.

I pointed out the facts.

Anthrax disrupted discussion of Patriot Act, and directly affected the key leaders and buildings, as well as media who would be reporting upon it.

Do you disupte these facts, reported by the mainstream media?

That's a valid concern. I don't think anyone likes giving up freedoms. The issue is whether we make sacrifices to keep us all safer. 911 has really changed things.

That said, I do think that for the most part law-abiding citizens don't really have much to worry about.

Again, what if THEY used the powers granted to the Federal Government to... Lets get REALLY hypothetical, persecute doctors, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical companies who seek to help athletes with medically supervised steroid cycles.

..of course,this a really out there example, we know that this will NEVER happen, never in a million years.

I do think that for the most part law-abiding citizens don't really have much to worry about.....
