HARD TO DIET WHEN WORKING HARD
« on: November 13, 2007, 10:57:35 AM »
Hey guys I've noticed that now that I have more responsibility at work (office job no manual labor involved) It's a lot harder to stick to a low calorie diet.  I used to be able to go all day without eating but now that I have to focus that just doesn't work.  Have you guys had similar experiences?

Of course.. Actually, I think it's kinda easier when you're kept busy, because you don't take in as much cals and are more active.. Of course this is my experience..

You just have to wake up early to prepare food and/or spend money at lunchtime on good food. I think its easy to keep on a good diet during work hours, but i know everyones office is a lil diffrent

this is a good question.  I'm not really sure.  I think I shoot for about 1800 but often probably end up closer to 2500, and sometimes up to 3000.  I don't really count, and a lot of the foods I eat don't have caloire counts.  Like I have strawberry shortcake cheesecake most days for lunch (it has no calorie count on it).

Do you lift weights?

I still use weights for some deadlifting type movements that I do, but most of training is in the form of bodyweight exercises.  For most exercises I do a lot of sets of singles or doubles.

I like Zeppolis with my pizza.

Yesterday my food intake was as follows:

-about 200 cals of high fiber cereal for breakfast
-devils food cheesecake (this was really dense, felt like 1000 cals) for lunch
-3 slices of prosciutto and onion pizza (but it was fancy restaurant pizza so they weren't that big) and a little bit of rigatoni with Bolognese sauce.

on the training side I did a lot of different bodyweight movements like ab wheel rollouts, some training for freestanding hand stand push-ups, some leg raises, and more miscellaneous crap that you guys would surely label as GHEY.

two questions gay boy, 1: what sort of shape are you in? 2: where can i find out more about that kind of training?(im serious)

Now why would we think that?   ::)

My point is that there must be quite a few forums on the internet covering a variety of interests...maybe a pop-locking or life extension forum might be better suited for you.  I don't think there's one single behavior you exhibit anymore that's anywhere near in line with what a bodybuilder does, yet here you sit on Getbig with a higher post count than me.  Consequently, you look nothing like a bodybuilder, either.  Does the physique you aspire to now look anything like any bodybuilders that you've seen, either natural or drugged?  I mean come on, let's re-evaluate things for a moment here.   Daddywaddy's nearing the same place you are right now.  Adonis fell into it as well.  Instead of sitting here telling us everything that we do is wrong or bad for us, go over to another forum and talk positively about shit.

This site is great:

http://beastskills.com/tutorials.htm

I think I'm in great shape.  I'm not nearly as ripped as I was this summer, but still very lean with good proportions.  I posted pics about a year ago (maybe more?)  I think I've probably added about 2-3lbs of muscle since then and probably a little bit leaner.

I've been on this site for a while.  I stay out of habit and because I like people's attitudes and sense of humor here.  If there were a site that was as busy for people doing bw training and low calorie diets, I would be all over it, but sadly there isn't and I lack the time to make one myself.

well I think I look like a natural BBer.  I would love to look like Serge Nubret or those great pictures that somebody posted of Thierry Pastel.  I think that will have to wait until Acceleron drops though (google it).

Maybe sometime if I get in condition I really am proud of I'll post more pics.  I really don't mind if you guys doubt me.  SF started a thread about me today, that was critical of my past condition I guess.  I liked the attention and the criticism didn't bother me that much becuase I like all of you guys.

I can do two I have a double chin.

no seriously I'm not really sure, I don't really do any of my movements for high reps.  I mostly do singles or doubles trying to maximize their difficulty by not using momentum and using the hardest possible range of motion.

Like consider the difference in difficulty between a normal pull-up and the Close to Impossible (pictured below)

I can't do that but when I do pull-ups I'm trying to push away from the bar as much as I am pull up to it (or go in front of it to hit the rear delts more).

OK well I have no problem with you here, I mean I like you, we've exchanged PM's and whatnot...but if you're gonna come along after everything I post and be like, "Yeah but you won't live to be 110 doing that stuff," well, that's just a pain in my ass.  And consider that if you're gonna look more like what you're indicating that you do, that you might have to bite the bullet and actually lift some traditional weights and add a little protein to your diet.  The diet you posted is a housewife Nutrisystem crash diet, seriously.  Wake up and see where you're at with all this.  Oh and one-legged doorjam squats won't do a damn thing for you that equates with real-world progress.  Yeah, they're probably hard.  I'll give you that.  But wtf are you doing them for?
