is it save or unsave to keep your money in a fanny pack while traveling in Egypt?
I have done so all the time, yes they have pickpockets like any country.
Look it's like any country were most of the people don't make more than 2 cent a day, don't carry to much cash around with you unless you want to buy some jewelry like I had to with my now wife.
In the resort they have mostly saves you can program them yourself, and in the resorts I have been you never have to pay but put it all on the room and pay the bill at the end.
HERE are some good pointers for anybody who want's to go to Egypt.
1) Don't carry to much cash around
2) Always have water with you, always drink drink drink.
3) Do learn a couple of words arabic it goes a long way and the Egyptians are VERY friendly and love to chat.
4) You're wife/GF should never wear anything that shows to much of her "assets" trust me I have been there, I went with my now Wife to Luxor for one day and you cannot believe all the people coming up congratulating me staring at her, shouting lucky man lucky man... in fact I got down right scared when a full bus of Soldiers stopped to cheer at her.. BUT she just wore a T-Shirt and shorts, she is blond and looks very good, but I have seen Tourists with daughters that wear little skirts.... and the people who have no education go fucking nuts.
5) Don't be scared to go to a local tee house and have a shisha, it's fun to mix with the locals, yes you are sticking out like a sore tooth by being an tourists, but most don't care.
6) ITS A PRIMARILY MUSLIM COUNTRY LIFE BY THE RULES.
7) Never tough anything in a shop, touching something means you show interest and they will not leave you alone until you bought something.

Always haggle a price for Taxi BEFORE you get into the cab
9) Always have some Pens *that's right pens* in your poket, you will see children who beg for money, but the worse thing you could do is to give them money since they go home and have made more money than their dad, that could unbalance the family life, give them some pens, they love them and use them in school.
10) Don't swim in the nile, there is a nasty bug that will burry itself into your kidney most locals have that.
