IQ is something that has long been an interest of mine.
The thought that some may have a better "genetic" ability to grasp and relay information is very interesting.
Most people are far off in estimations of their own IQ though.
The average IQ is generally considered to be 100.
IQ doesn't measure how educated someone is. IQ is simply a generalized test to measure one's ability to comprehend information.
On an normal IQ test, a score of 124 will put you in the top 5% of the world as far as natural intelligence.
A score of 130 (depending on the test) will put you in the top 2% and qualify you for Mensa.
The tests available on the internet are not real IQ test. They generally allow people to score about 30 points higher than their true IQ in order to coax people into buying a product, or buying the print out of their score.
For the average person with an IQ of 100, this will put them in the lower end of genius....which is quite appealing to the people taking the test.
The average IQ test is widely inaccurate in testing those with an IQ over 145. For these people, a standard deviation 24 test can help measure their IQ above the level of 145.
An IQ of 145 puts you in the 99.9th percentile....already very rare waters.
An IQ of 175 puts you in the 99.999997th percentile.....so you can imagine how rare someone like Bethany Howlett is! In fact, to have an IQ of 191 is very rare as most measurements above 145 are just generalizations as there are so few people of that intelligence, there isn't a large enough group of people to create any real proportionate data.
