Not stirring the pot, just curious. There were 13 guys that went over to the WBF in 1990. The majority came back and competed. Prior to that we had names such as Samir Banout, Edwardo Kawak, and Sergio Oliva compete in rival organizations but were also allowed back. What's the difference in Lee's regard?

Back when the WBF guys were re-admitted (and more so earlier 70's and 80's) the strength of the IFBB was in a different position and they weren't in a position of having the depth of bber's that they currently enjoy, hence the IFBB were happy to have them back to strengthen their line up.

I don't believe that to be the case at all (at least not in the case of the WBF guys), as the IFBB was the gold standard at that time. As for the 70's and 80's, perhaps.

My point was that they were all allowed back in. Has Lee done something other than compete in a rival organization, thus not allowing his reinstatement?

The same way Charles Clairmonte became an IFBB competitor. It was awarded to them by the IFBB. A lot of foreign competitors have become IFBB pros this way.

CLEARLY, as this discussion has gone on for months if not a year - THE FANS WANT LEE BACK.

The IFBB has the CHOICE to allow the fans to watch Lee compete, nothing is written in stone and they can EASILY let Lee back in as HE HAS SERVED HIS PENALTY / TIME in FULL.

The main difference is that none of them refused an initial offer for reinstatement...all were smart enough to come back when given the chance.

Lee's story with the IFBB has been rehashed a number of times. What happened, his initial offer for reinstatement which was refused, a number of people went to bat, which was refused and denied. We can go on, but the story is, what was done is done. There are new bodybuilders in town, and unfortunately, Lee wasnt reinstated.

He always says its been about the fans...However his fan base is mostly made up of people who followed him in the IFBB...They bought the mags, his video's and went to IFBB shows...

The truth is it was never about the fans...He is reaching that age where if you aren't doing anything significant now, statistics show your in trouble...

I predict in the next 6 months he will in fact tattoo the other half of his face and we will probably see him team up with DA/Palumbo in some way

When the IFBB offered "reinstatement" they knew he was already bound by contract to do stuff elsewhere, therefore would face legal problems with his other contractors if he accepted.  He continued to fulfill the year suspension and did so.  Then you guys gave him "more suspension time"  Where is that in the old IFBB rule books??  Sounds like a lot of people, (yourself included) aren't really representing anyone but those who got "offended" I think George Orwell said it best.."some animals are more equal than others"  I mean, there's guys who are doing morally and spiritually offensive things, and this guy tried to make a living somewhere other than the IFBB.  Who cares what he says, he's a really entertaining personality in the sport and has a fantastic physique.  All of us fans love him.  People would buy tickets to see him return.  Let the fans have one of their favorites, already!  What does the IFBB have to lose??   There's got to me more to this story and I'm betting it is all rumor and politics.  I'd love to have an uncensored article in a muscle mag with the REAL story.   I know if I had lost my professional position at my office over disagreeing with someone/talking crap, or going to work for another competitor it would be called making a living.  What the IFBB is doing seems a but un-American to me.  It's pitiful the way it's been handled.  Bad management from my view of corporate politics.  It could be changed into a very profitable thing for the IFBB, I know the pro shows aren't near as full as NPC shows by what I've heard, maybe this is why..?
