Just my opinion belts don't help much it's mainly psychological but others might have different structures and feel a difference.

I honestly thought the same also,in fact I went beltless for years until last year when I went on the shelf 3 different times (two weeks each time)

you lock on a lever belt and you'll never look at a buckle belt the same....they're absolute garbage in comparison

My dad told me the same thing but I had to learn the hard way.  With the guys doing the massive lifts "requiring" these belts, they have built a strong core capable of supporting the lifts.  It helps people attempt big lifts but the belt can be seen as a safety catch which can lead to bad form.

Unless you have a previous back injury, this is true.

ya like my hips are huge, so when i wear a belt it goes up a lil too high, iunno it doesnt always fit right. prolly works great for guy swith small waists though

I own that exact belt.
Well made.
Maybe not “perfect” for ALL exercises – like those where you may prefer a narrower front and wider back.

But I think it is a great general-purpose belt, and it suits me fine.

True, this is actually a more "powerlifting" style belt...bodybuilding ones mostly are narrow in front and wider in back.

actually, an ideal belt should be wider in the front, narrower in the back

you can pad up the back with a thick towel  to an extra couple inches of width

can't use in for deads but it's awesome for leg days, with that thing locked in it's almost impossible to use bad form

Yeah, full range DL's are pretty much out of the question with it - at least for me.
I typically only do partials inside a rack (subscribing to Charles Glass' beliefs), and for that they are perfect.
