The thing is, it wouldn't even make the headlines when a 16 year old gets pregnant in Afghanistan. She's been married for 5 years already by that.
The fact that it is worth menitoning shows how unusual it is in the US, and sure there are people responsible.
People tend to forget that in medieval times it was totally normal to marry and girl that was below 16 years of age, most girls had their first child
with the age of 16, most people never saw the age of 40 so they tend to start early.
Its only in our society and with an average age of 80+ that we tend to look down on such things.
I think there is a huge difference between some sexual predator who goes out and kidnaps kids and fucks them and an 40 year old afghany man who
still lives in the midival times (in his mind at least and judging by the standarts we life by here in the states or Eu).
