Consistency is key?

So if someone is wrong 30 years ago, and then stand by that opinion today, that is somehow a good trait? ???

Explain please.

RonPaul wants USA to leave UN.

USA is one of the founders of UN, and it is biggest forum for nations to communicate. Recently, there was an agreement on Bali, where both India and China was coerced into a more environmentally sound strategy for the future.

Would that have been possible without USA? I doubt it.

How is leaving UN gonna make anything better for USA and the world?

National Sovereignty my long beared friend. Many in the USA were opposed to the UN when it came about but their opposition was quashed. The UN is only one issue. I don't care whether or not the USA stays in the UN or not but I do care about foreign policy, monetary policy and civil liberties.

Hey Hedgehog, do you have fun forking over 40% of your personal income to the government of Sweden? ;D

Yes. UN is only one issue.

RonPaul is also against women's choice in the Abortion Issue.

And please Trapez, give me a suggestion on how the world should deal with a running climate change, if not together?

Right now, there's almost no snow up here. And I know that even in the Alps, some areas are short on snow.

What does that tell you?

What about New Orleans? What about the rise of the sea level?

A lot of these conspiracy theorists claims that RonPaul is some kind of "outsider". That he's not part of the Washington nomenclatura.

Get real.

He's just one of the boys. Like Hillary. Like Edwards, like Bush, like Kerry.

The only thing remotedly close to a real "outsider", was Bill Clinton. How he was able to win, is incredible, since he was pretty much a common man, or at least as common as they come.

But Ron Paul? Please.

Deal with temperature change? How did our ancestors deal with it in the past? They adapted. I don't believe that climate change is caused by human beings; we certainly add on to it but there is much propaganda on the issue.

I don't agree with Ron Paul on the abortion issue but his compromise is a sound one. Let each state decide.

You must have been out to lunch; Ron Paul cannot be compared to ANY other candidate. Bill Clinton wasn't an outsider, he was/is a lying sack of shit like his wife.

And you dodged the most important question: do you like giving up 40% of your income to your government?

What did he lie about?

His womenizing.

Doesn't change his background.

You don't believe the global warming is caused by man ok.

Many scientists would argue otherwise, in fact, the general consensus is that it is caused by man.

A random issue: Rain Forests are seen as vital in converting CO2 and water to oxygen.

And at Bali, UN conference, the Rain Forest countries were finally negotiated into cutting down (pun intended) their foresting.

Rain Forests are important but I think them independent of the global warming issue. We should strive to limit their destruction.

CO2 has been allegedly linked to global warming yet there is not evidence that it is the CAUSE of it.

Global Warming exists, but I don't believe its cause is man. Temperatures on earth have been changing for 4.5 billion years. What's new? Some people are taking advantage of it to promote a form of globalisation called One World Government.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that I can agree with on most everything.  The abortion view is iffy but at least the feds will be out of it.

If Ron Paul were elected he would be without a doubt the most popular president ever.  People don't want to debate with Ron Paul.  They are scared.  I just don't understand how more citizens don't get behind this guy.  What sort of frustrates me is that he is running on the Republican ticket.  I think I would distance myself from them.  I hope he has a chance but in reality people have been living this big government policy for so long they know nothing else and it scares them to make such a drastic change but that is what we need.  A DRASTIC CHANGE NOW !!!!

Are there any celebrities getting behind him?  I know that should not matter one bit, but...the truth is these morons look up to celebrities and value their opinion.   ::)

We need Ron Paul in a bad way.

My wife likes Hillary.  I get so pissed because she doesn't know jack shit and will just vote because she said when Bill was in office things were good.  Unfortunately that is the mentality of most voters.  Like a guy I work with loves Bush because of his religious beliefs.  ::)  I just don't get it.  Fucking morons.

Your wife supports Billary?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????!!!!!!!!!!!!  :o Billary is evil. I would never vote for her.

Ron Paul is the FUCKING MAN; you are right, everyone is scared shitless of him in a debate because he always speaks his mind and the truth. People can't dodge around that. They wish they could but alas. If Ron Paul got the Republican nomination, he would cream any Democrat, especially Billary; I would love to see a debate between them and watch her slither and squeal. BTW. I don't like that Ron Paul is running on a Republican ticket since I am an Independent but I see the logic there; we have a two party system, like it or not and to have real chances you have to play the game!

I wonder what would really happen if he were elected.  I mean he cannot make these drastic changes without a vote in congress and neither side seems to be liberal enough to concede.

One thing he could do: the president is the commander and chief of the armed forces and as such he would have the authority to immediately withdraw our troops from I raq and within a time framework, from Germany, Italy, Iceland, Japan, Korea, Spain, Bolivia, Peru and every other fucking country we're stuck in. He WOULD be able to do that. And that would make a huge difference and have world wide ramifications. Everything else, you are right about. He would have to fight Congress but that first step would be a big one.

Yes that would be a great start.  We still need embassy's but to hell with the military bases.  Unless those countries want to flip the bill.  I wonder if he would have the power to drastically reduce the manpower of the CIA, FBI, Dept of Education,  etc.  Not get rid of them but downsize by 80%.  Not sure of his authority in those matters.

CIA, yes. The CIA is the private army of the president. He could call them off at the very least. FBI I am not sure. Department of Education, no. He would have to fight the Democrats to do that. However if the Ron Paul revolution is real and I believe it is, the people who elected him would back his decisions and Congress is the mouth piece of the people. Just my thoughts.

I didn't answer the tax question since I didn't see how that was somehow pertinent to this discussion.

However, I have no problem answer it: I believe that as long as there are a proper correlation between the tax and benefits for the citizens, ie that the citizens feels that they benefits from the the level of tax, there is no problem.

And currently, I would say that spending is fairly efficient, ie that I have no problem with the level of tax.

However, I have a problem with the taxes being lowered, since we're currently in a economic boom in Sweden. Instead of curbing the economic temperature, we could risk it by overheating it by lowering taxes, inflating the economy.

If you're gonna lower taxes, only do so when there is an economic recess.

And if you're gonna raise 'em - only do it when there's economic growth.

Nice to see that you believe that we should limit the destruction of the Rain Forest.

There were some major steps made at Bali. A UN conference. Where USA was a major part.

Why do you support RonPaul, someone who is anti-UN?
