I am all for bashing the Cops with tasers issue on here as much as anyone...but it
Sounds to me like the cop was probably not completely in the wrong on this.It says she was warned repeatedly. Granted the lady was emotional and upset by the phone call....but when confronted by the cop should have explained why she stepped outside, rather than yell and back away.
Jag if I read correctly the officer just happened to be in the store at the time...they weren't summoned
In the story I read, the cop was called. (yes she was in the store, but she didn't approach the woman on her own, she was called over) What I want to know if, she looked suspicious of what? How do you report someone as looking suspicious? suspicious of what?
I don't know if she deserves to be charged...in my mind it would depend on the situation( what was the emergency call and would it be understandable that she would have been worked up) but if she didn't explain that to the officer they had no way of knowing..all they knew is she wasn't cooperating.
I didn't see the video my comments come only from reading the limited info in the original post.
I agree, my comments come only from reading what limited info is there, ...but it stands to reason, ...I mean common sense will tell you that if you are walking towards someone carrying a weapon, that they are going to back away from you. Anytime you approach someone aggressively, they are automatically going to back away from you.
And from what I gathered, the police officer approached her
AFTER she had already checked out.
so again, my question is, 'suspicious of what?' if it was a floor walker raising the 'suspicious' tag, that's one thing.
But a check-out clerk who was more than likely behind the counter the entire time of this woman's visit to the store?
Does that mean everytime someone steps outside their door they must have a happy pleasantville-like smile plastered to their face so they don't look "suspicious".
