Spot training
« on: December 26, 2007, 05:45:02 PM »
Most of us have read where they say you can't spot train certain bodyparts only and grow. like someone who wanted to just trains arms & nothing else. quote  from a website " Repeat after me: SPOT TRAINING DOES NOT WORK. Say it as many times as you need to. Let it sink in. Believe it. The American Council on Exercise states in their Personal Training Manual......' un-quote

I wonder about this. Have you ever seen the male Gymnastic dudes. What do they weigh,  120 ?  Some have HUGH arms! Way bigger then the other body parts.

Still blows me away watching them do that Iron Cross thing on the rings!!!!

Anyway, Opinions on just training certain parts and size??

I know spot training for fat loss doesn't work...but if you want to train just one muscle such as one bicep ...I don't see why it wouldn't work, within reason of coarse, meaning whatever muscles were also used while training that one bicep, such as Brachialis would also grow.
