Aide admits that Huckabee has "no foreign policy credentials"
« on: December 29, 2007, 08:26:27 AM »
Remember a few weeks ago when Huckabee was clueless about the Iran NIE even though it was the biggest story of the day.  It seems like when it comes  down to details Huckleberry Hound is bit slow on the uptake.

PELLA, Iowa (CNN) -- A senior aide to Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee admitted Friday that the former Arkansas governor had "no foreign policy credentials" after his comments reacting to the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto raised questions.

During an event Friday in Pella, Iowa, Huckabee said the crisis sparked by Bhutto's death should lead to a crackdown on illegal immigrants from Pakistan.

LOL>>>>>>

Making this issue aboutillegal immigration, something to appeal to the petty repub base.

Shit, pakistan may have just had a false-flag assassination of a political rival 2 weeks before the election to cancel elections and install a military dictatorship/make permanent martial law, and they still have 30 nukes floating around the nation, along with Osama and God knows who else.

He's worried about building a fence with Mexico?  Holy shit, I like Huck, but he's completely clueless here.  He'd better pick McCain for a running mate, cause he's going to get distroyed by Hilary on foreign policy knowledge.  (Obama, not so much)

McCain and Richardson are about the only candidates in the race with "foreign policy credentials."  Not sure what Edwards did during his one term as senator.

Some that have it, off the top of my head...
Biden, Dodd...

Thompson, Mitt, Rudy, NONE.
Obama, Edwards, NONE.

Hilary = some... she wasn't a decision maker but was certainly (and possibly wrongly) privy to huge decisions and intel and probably knows a lot more about things than anyone else running.

Of course, Cheney had more experience than ANYONE in DC when he was elected VP.  What has he done with it, besides let/make Bush allow 911 then start 2 elective wars?

Experience is good, but I'd prefer a person with good decision making skills.  Ron Paul and Obama and Kucinish were on the RIGHT side of the Iraqi war... they have better decision making credeitnals than all the others who "fell for" bush's war resolution, even tho they KNEW that 80% of Americans believed it meant Bush would declare war.  (When Hilary said she didn't believe Bush would use the power to declare war, she was BSing us).

I don't think Bill Clinton had much "cred" either but at least he was smart and was known for working his ass off to learn.

Whenever Huck is pressed for details on many subjects he starts looking and sounding like a bumpkin

Huckabee was just on television about an hour ago on CSPAN. I think that Huckabee has been publicized based partly on the fact that he is actually being endorsed by Chuckabee Norris.
