he's saying you have three minutes to do it..so if you blow your load in 4 reps.. and take 2 minute sto recover before trying to do another one..you can do that as long as you don't let go of the bar.

But thats stupid. Should be one set, continuous.

this is more along the lines of strongman style of competing where you have x amout of time to perform a certain lift as many times as you can. This is the powerlifting/strongman forum...what's stupid about having strongman rules?  ???

are these true deads or "tap and go" because if anyone can pull one rep, then bouncing it off the floor for a second is rather easy in comparison...my point being that no one should get only one rep if "tap and go" is allowed.

Correct! I KNOW nobody is gonna hit 500 for 3 straight minutes but this isnt about ridiculous rep totals as much as it is about calling on your inner strength and endurance. Its a mental game more than anything. Most will rep it out for a minute or two and bow out, but the truly strong will get down and regroup for one or two more because they know it could mean all the difference in the end!

Yes it is tap and go, just as it is in a Strongman comp. The tap MUST be obvious, none of this "I heard the plates rattle, its a tap" bullshit! KLANK and the weight comes up, thats it.

There should be a ONE MINUTE time limit... otherwise someone will have a coronary.

you have til february to get 100posts AND your lift video in.. but when you submit your video..if your post count isn't 100 or better posts you're not eligible.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK IT'S GOING TO TAKE TO WIN THIS ONE?! THINK ANYONE WILL HIT 20 REPS??! ;D

I've done sets with 405 for 20 in under a minute and 315 for 30 but I can't imagine 405 for 30 reps good lord..maybe for sets of 10 divided up with little rest between but no way in hell for a continuous set. You da man.. no way I'm going for that haha

it must of took a better part of 5 min, but the last 10 were a complete blur where you can't really feel or think anything, you just see black.

Watch Magoos video where he did close to 30 reps with 225 in 3 minutes...he said he was about to have a heart attack...not from the weight but the cardio workout. I can't imagine 405 trying to go that fast

405 doesn't move that fast for anyone not named Bolton or Magnusson.

Are you suggesting that someone has exaggerated their lifting claims?

I'm in...not sure how many i can pull in 3 min but I think i can get back to 500lbs in  a month or so. My problem might be getting someone to film it, I'm going to feel like an idiot..we'll see. I'll know by Feb 1 or so if I'm close but I'm in.
