Not like this..this was going to be a monster operation that SOCOM didn't feel comforatble with...the administration was beholden to the State Department on this. If it had gone like the SOF guys wanted it would have been a small operation. They do their own thing alot so, somebody else found out that they were pretty close to Bin Laden and kicked it higher. We are so used to Hollywood esgue ending to things like this....its incrediably hard to get folks into Pakistan and work sucessfully....the folks their hate everybody and we don't speak the various languages in that area. Its not Iraq..we've found almost everybody we've wanted there.
we've given 5 billion to pakistan, and 6 years.
zero results.
perhaps the 'win' here was that the paki powder keg has remained tight under musharraf, who has spent the money on summer homes or whatever else (as the money is all secret once it hits his hands).
perhaps the win is also a free osama. HH, no MFer is that lucky, that we cannot even come close to him. We have our entire military, the worlds top technology, and in ten years (since we stopped paying him, and he bacame our enemy), we haven't been able to sniff him out?
Dude, the fact we let 1000 cars escape tora bora ala an unguarded northern road while every general screamed - isn't THAT enough to hint at maybe "it's a good thing for our goals if we let him stay on the lam"?
HH, why is osama the luckiest MFer in history? Why have neither clinton nor bush been able to catch him? When you see prez Obama or Huck let him "barely escape" for 4 years, THEN will you start to wonder if maybe he's the ticket to elective war approavl by that last 20%, and allowed to escape?
Shit, why don't they just catch him?
