Started losing my hair in my late 20's 
I have a friend that I "busted" for having a ton of work at a hair restoration clinic. This was in the mid 90s. He was in the same boat as you, losing it in his 20s. He confessed that he spent about 50 grand.
It looked fine, and you didn't notice it unless you were spotting him on exercise (how I found out).
Once, though, we we're drinking, and he looked at me and said "if i would have fucking KNOWN that bald with goatee was going be "in" in a few years, I never would have done this fucking bullshit!"
