20k for a Pro show is a JOKE,over 5 places do the math it's not worth it.At least the jap show was worth something when it was going to be on.Oh well back to food stamps.
Do the rest of the math...500 people attending this event @ average $50 per head equals $25,000 plus some vendor fees, minus venue, guest posing fees, personnel and other sundry costs...after paying the pro's the $20,000 purse, doesn't leave much to pay these other costs.
Until bodybuilding gains some other avenues of revenue (television, pay per view, etc.), you aren't going to see too many big shows that can pay the kind of money that the Olympia and Arnold can.
(In fact, that is probably why the Olympia chose to stay in Las Vegas permanently rather than moving from city-to-city as it had in the old days. It is easier to drum up interest if people know that the event is going to be in the same place every year. If the Olympia was in Vegas one year, in Munich the next, then London, then Sydney, many of the regular audience would decide to skip the show and watch it online, hitting the IFBB and AMI deep in the pocket book.)
Messiah of Muscle: Correct me if I am wrong. I am guessing at your audience figures based on the turnout at other pro bodybuilding shows. Hope that I am wrong and that your contest turns a good profit.
