Actually he is a political pawn who doesn't even realize that he himself is a terrorist fighting an immoral and illegal war for MONEY while being brainwashed to believe it is for freedom.  Without soldiers, this war could not continue.  Soldiers and police officers are hired thugs with guns to protect the assets of the rich.

That said, in his own subjective perspective, he is a hero, fighting for what he (falsely) believes to be a just cause.  But the same can be said for Hitler, so that argument is meaningless.

You are officially the getbig douche bag of the year! Hope your proud.

i dont know anything more than what i've seen on google video.  the talk about how the drug trade gives us some free cash flow which allows our economy to function.  if it means our economy doesn't crash, I could care less.

ROFL!  ;D  Guys, did I call these responses or what??

I would prefer a civilized debate.  Rather than simply "your [sic] an idiot for not following the status quo" and other comments like that.

Yeah, Fortunatly their the bottom 20% war supporters.      Most of the world agrees with MATT C, so its a sore spot for them.
This whole    "We went over there, so they wouldnt come over here" story is BS.

If we were thinking that a WMD story was going to be made up for mexico or canada, then we could have poured the trillions of dollars into our defense and Jason could have been home with his family and 76,000 iraqis would still be above ground.

Ok, Mr. Canada.  Your country wouldn't exist if Americans didn't kick your ancestors out into the snow dunes for disagreeing with our cause (i.e. not wanting to be England's bitch).

The American government doesn't do "what's right", it does "what's right for America".  If other countries tag along, they might get a piece of the pie.  If not, oh well.  Sucks for them.

Jason did what's right for America, according to the American government.  If you want to say he's much of a hero as a nazi soldier, then fine, I suppose he is.  The one major difference is Jason CHOSE to fight for his country; no one made him.  As for the skinny Arabs who flew the planes into WTC, i guess they're heroes in the eyes of whoever they follow, but not to America.  Jason is a hero to us, but not to whoever he was fighting.  What's so hard to figure out?

The day I see border jumpers trying to sneak into any place other than America, I might change my mind on some issues.  But for now, I'm good where i'm at.

What kind of sad, sick people get ahead in life by torturing and killing other people?  That's horrible, but at least you admit it.

Incredibly stupid people, incredibly poor people who have no choice, or people from centuries ago have an excuse for this type of behaviour.  The USA, with the current status of the world economy and politics do NOT have an excuse to act like savages.  >:(

you dont fight for a cause...those who fight do it because they know its the only thing they re good at or because they didnt find something else to do they re good at in life (most of the soldiers).

Thats why you dont choose to become a hero, a hero of war is just a guy good at being a soldier.

There are no "warriors", just people who are better at ruling, owning or killing the others due to the genetics mother nature gave em, and they dont chose it, it's just what they are suposed to do for some reasons, like some people are good at something else.

does being wounded means one's a hero ?

wounded protecting other people yeah, but a hero is a soldier who either sacrifices himself for others mates, or a soldier who dies after taking numerous ennemies with him.

Just standing here and being hurt by the explosion of a bomb doest make you a hero i think.

Another thing ; its a very common need nowadays to be a "hero", or a "star",  the funny is, you find hapiness and personal acomplishment in doing things for yourself, things  the whole world will never see or hear about, it's the key of being ok with yourself. And you don't have to be a star or a hero to achieve it. There are others and vastly unexplored ways to feel good with yourself , and while trying to become a hero or astar, most people dont even have any idea of what it is to feel like to be  "someone really happy".

No. Your post was just stupid as hell, because it makes implications that makes it completely illogical. The only way to believe the shit you wrote was to abandon all forms of critical evaluation of the implications, kind of believing in a fairy tale like the bible.

Exactly.  If police and soldiers were smart, they wouldn't be police and soldiers to begin with.  :P  That's not politically correct to point out, but it is nevertheless true.

And that explains my situation personally.  I am way too smart to be serving in the military.  I DO NOT accept bullshit from people, especially people pushing 50 who dropped out of school in grade 10.

Your poor attempts at dodging the question are laughable.  You left out how you were retarded, but are now better.  Perhaps missing that solidifies your point.

::)Wow, well you do show plenty of heroism and intelligence on this board day in and day out Matt C!

Oh brother. I love it when we have these pseudo-intellectual/ political science experts/ smartest men in the world on here. Always opining (bravely I might add) from behind their mighty keyboard about how everyone else that doesn't share their point of view is a "dumb ass" or "ignorant" blah blah. You read some Daily Kos, Mother Jones and little Chomsky and you lecture everyone on here because you can't possibly be wrong.

I have friends in the Air Force, Army and one in the Marines. They are intelligent, upstanding people who seem to care for their country. Is this the only reason they serve? Not all, one is doing it to pay for college, the other two just want to be in the military. Honestly, who  are you ,Matt C, to be stereo typing the millions who have served this country in some capacity or another? You obviously know little about which you speak, whether it be those actually serving or the branches that they serve in. It must be nice having an incredibly narrow and fixed view of people and their vocations.

The part in bold is a strawman argument.

I also never denied that there are some smart people in the police and military services, I'm simply pointing out that as far as a trend is concerned, on the average, they are not as smart as a myriad of other professions.

Matt C, what do you know about career opportunities within the military or police?

Lots.  What in particular do you want to know?  Not everyone enlisted in the military is a military doctor.
