Here are a few recently taken photos of Wong Hong. He is eight weeks out from the Australian Pro and looking very sharp, the best he has looked so far out from any pro show he has ever entered. Good luck Wong!
Wong is a guy who has made great physical improvements from year to year since began competing in the pro ranks and the word "quit" is not in his vocabulary. Look for him to make an impact in 2008.
Wong's responses to a few questions I asked him recently:
Hi Wong. How are you feeling nine weeks out from the Australian pro?
Wong: I am feeling great physically and mentally at nine weeks out. Just started my diet on 1-1-2008. My current bodyweight is 115kg (253lbs), which is 6kg (13lbs) heavier than my last off-season bodyweight. I am also leaner, thicker and denser than in my last off-season. I am all psyched up for the Australian and New Zealand Pro shows because I know I will come in much better than my last show if everything goes as planned.
What is your major goal for this contest?
Wong: My goal is to come in shredded with paper-thin skin, denser and even more proportionate this time around.
What has been your strategy this time around?
Wong: Ali Amini (my nutritionist) will have me going on a zero carb and high fat diet (ketogenic diet) from eight weeks out. This is the first time I will have done this type of diet and look forward to coming in 110% better than at Santa Susanna.
I have learned some new and effective exercises from Ali for my upper and middle chest, arms and back. These are his versions of specific exercises that I have not seen or read anywhere before!
I have improved thickness overall on my physique, especially in the chest, back and thighs.
