Why do you guys post on a bodybuilding forum when you hate bodybuilders?

I'm really confused. I see all these posts by people saying how bodybuilding is "gayer than respect for women" and that bodybuilders are just bathroom material for old gay men. Most of you talk about bodybuilders as people that are just drug using homo's, yet you aspire to look like them. So what's the deal here? Jealousy? Envy?

I disagree. Bodybuilding fans are the worst fans out there when it comes to this sort of thing.

Football fans spit on players.  NBA fans threw a cup of ice at Ron Artest and nearly caused a riot.  Fans/players fight in other sports.  In bodybuilding, there is none of that.

People engage in bar fights over which NFL team is better.  They fight over college teams.  No one fistfights over whether Jay or Ronnie had better glutes in 2007.

Finally, we know that every man onstage not named Pelletier is using steroids, and we don't care.  If you told every NFL fan that 100% of the players were juicing, you'd lose a few.  Not in BBing.

Personally, I love bbing. The eating, the training, the lifestyle. I see myself doing it for the rest of my life.....as long as I can help it.

Do you actually respect "men" who prance around in a bikini for other men? I think most people here are just people who like to workout. Some guys on here talk about mens bodies a little too much and obviously they are homosexuals, but for the most part the posters here are quite normal, and since no one in the real world respects bodybuilders, not too many people on here do.

I'll agree 100% I think the bber's who do G4P and all that nonsense shouldn't be respected, but the guys who have honest jobs outside the sport should be. Mark Dugdale for example manages a company, has a wife and kids and still competes at a top level. The guys like Kai Green and Rodney St.Cloud are fags in real life and the sport.

Well, Ronnie Coleman has a real job (texas sheriff) are we suppose to respect him? A man who is suppose to uphold the law, breaks the law by taking drugs. Slightly hypocritical. We like what bodybuilding relates to, meaning we like to lift weights and eat in a way that is conducive to building muscle and gaining strength.  Bodybuilding message boards happen to be the closest form of a communication medium we can get which allows us to discuss our hobby with other people with the same interests.  It just happens to also speak a lot about the professional bodybuilding world which we are not necessarily interested in.

Sometimes the bodybuilding is just a side issue - there's a lot of guys who have been on here for years and even though no-one knows what many other people look like we still all get together and have a laugh at bodybuilding's expense. Sure, we all lift and most of us take it seriously but Getbig is also the sort of place where you can come on and have a laugh and take the piss out of each other just for the hell of it. It's all good fun - I wouldn't let it worry you that we seem to be hating on bodybuilders all the time - we do respect them but you've got to remember that they're people just like us at the end of the day. Chill.
