Regardless of this, the thing that Nasser constantly fails to recognise is that he is a special case. Before his first interview, we were already bored of Bigbobs and co, spamming the board with substantial levels of extraneous nonsense regarding him (ie, random pictures of Nasser in any thread). They had nothing constructive to say about the guy. It was meant to be a nuisance and nothing more. Atleast, that is the perception. In Bigbobs case I will admit the guy seems genuine. That being said, he was still participating in aforementioned nuisance making, genuine intentions or not.
It is only when Nasser took it upon himself to "prove" things via interview that there was actually information that had some substance to it. Too late for many members here. They had already had enough. This is the thing that he never seems to understand. It is not because he spoke up. It is because he was initially represented as an annoyance here. More specifically, that he seemed proud that this was the case (I believe he is simply mistaken).
If Nasser had acknowledged that he did not agree with people using him as a tool to irritate, most of the members here would not have decided they did not like him. The fact that he embraced this band of people acting like imbeciles perturbed everybody. It shows desperation when you endorse people who are mentioning you no matter how cheaply. Haven't you heard that word "desperate" a lot lately regarding Nasser? Did it come from thin air that people think he's desperate for attention? Absolutely not, it came from the way he reacted to early "Team Nasser" conduct.
That is the root cause. His speaking up is just something to attack him on. The premise that he was desperate for attention was already there. I don't know that you could know that unless you've been here for a long time and you understand how it works. People don't actually dislike Nasser, they dislike the fact he seems completely comfortable with any use of his name here.
If you do not believe this is the case, research the "Klaus Doring" effect. Team Klaus, which I was a member of was a group of people actively doing the exact same thing several years back, spamming the board because it was funny to us (although Klaus was actually funnier, considering what he looks like). Were we genuinely into Klaus? Fuuckkk no. If Klaus came to the board and hailed this support we'd have been embarrassed for the guy. In a way, it is almost sacrilege for me to even say these words, Team Klaus being such a sacred getbig institution.
