Is L-Carnitine a worthwhile supplement?

Any other must have besides whey protein, multi, creatine and BCAA?

yeah sure it is

studies show that it promotes good testosterone levels and that it  helps mobilize fatty acids for use as energy.. :)

Have controlled studies shown any real measureable effects from it on athletes? ::)

well i wouldnt be so skeptical if i were you....it certainly cant hurt. all it is is an amino acid anyways.

It certainly can't hurt (unless it has long term side effects we don't know about), but it's still a waste of money because the effects has not been proven nor rapported as big empirically. Your opinion seems to be "let's waste money and hope it works"

Lot's of things does wonderful things on paper, but the real life result when all factors are taken into concideration = almost to small to measure. L-Carnite don't even seem to do wonderful things on paper (unless you can come up with some magical effects from double blind studies)

Hot tip: Until a person can account for every calorie and gram of macronutrients he/she takes in every day of the year + tweaks them for optimal progress, supplements like L-Carnite = basically worthless.

Well i certainly would agree that it is not a "must have" supplement...but with many reputable companies, magazines, and guru's putting their names and research teams behind the notion that l-carnitine is at least WORTHWHILE, i would say that its worth the price..sine l-carnitine is  very cheap product.

well on paper...l carnitine is an amino acid that plays a role in lipid metabolism, and is a tesosterone booster. pretty cool things for a bodybuilder to have, dont you think?

i strongly disgaree...what does daily caloric intake have to do with the effectiveness of l carnitine or any other supplement for that matter?

yeah i think its a great addition to pre morning-cardio fat los stacks...higher t-levels and more efficient fat burning= better body composition via increased preservation of muscle tissue and increased utilization of adipose tissue...
