They aren't totally innocuous but they aren't a "killer" like rec drugs.

Not arguing aout this.  It just baffles me that people that "use" ,and I have been one of them, believe it's not unhealthy.

same here, maybe there is a certain line you cross and it gets easier like ciggarets, first time you smoke one you go... hmm that wasn't too bad I'm still alife, first time you shoot any test you are probably scared but than nothing happens... hmm I'm still alife.

I'm personaly scared of that shit, I tend to not even take painkillers or injections when I'm at the dentists, and it has nothing to do with
the injection but I don't trust that shit.
Your so tough  ::)

Did you not read GetItOnNY's post? Most likely rec drug related. Like so many other bodybuilder health problems there are rec drugs involved.

You ridicule gh15's advice but he's been talking so much about the rec drug problem in bodybuilding. Rec drugs are a problem. Steroids aren't... not to any significant degree. You should listen more to what gh15 says.

Agreed! I was around when things started to change. Back in the 80's I started seeing guys using coke and speed to train and then valium to sleep. Then came the nubain. All of the sudden it started showing up on the lists of things that you could get and I was like WTF is this shit? One guy that I trained with used to take it before we did legs. Personally I have never even tried coke and the only time I ever had nubain was in the ER and even then the nurse had to talk me into taking it. She didn't have to talk to much though.  ;D When you are in pain it's a different story. I personally can not freakin stand the feeling you get from pain killers, but I know how easy they are to get hooked on. What a shame.

You speak from a very biased point of view as you make a living from people the "use".  I'm not saying that's bad or good, just crazy that you guys deny doing juice is so unhealthy and counterproductive.

That is crazy.  I'm amazed people even take insulin period, let alone that much.

That's the kind of attitude you need to have if you want to cut it in the pro ranks. Bodybuilding isn't about health, at least in the pro ranks of the IFBB. Like everyone else, Erik made his choice - he prioritized his muscularity over his health and that's playing Russian Roulette - some are genetically blessed / lucky / tolerant to take what they need to take and stay relatively healthy while having a decent life span. Others end up paying the price - early death, kidney failure and so on.

RIP Erik. BTW, it's Erik Fromm and not Erick From

Of course I charge, why not? but my financial world would not by any means collapse if I stopped training people. In fact, I have started to cut back since it takes up too much of my free time but anyway..

 People that know me on here know that I don't sugar coat anything. Rec drugs are a huge problem in this sport. I have seen many people run into some problems with using rec drugs whether they lifted or not. Which scenario is better. A natural BB who does coke on a daily baisis or a "user" who does 1200 mgs a week for a show for 12 to 16 weeks and never does rec drugs? I have said before that I am not for the abuse of steroids or anything for that matter. It's just that you can take a hell of a lot more steroids and not overdose so therefore the abuse dose is not really set in stone.

Yeah I agree with what you are saying, that part of being a successful bb is how you "tolerate"  juice, and how you respond.  I know when I "used", I put on 20 pounds but it didn't look good on me and I got headaches and felt shitty.  However I do have shitty genetics.

It's not just bodybuilders - heaps of common / everyday people abuse some substance or the other. It's just very convenient to take the high ground and get all condescending and disapproving on bodybuilders cause they take steroids which the guys bashing them don't have the balls to take (by their own admission). It's typical human nature - draw the line where it's convenient and declare that every thing else beyond it is monstrous and unacceptable ::)
