I'm not sure how he's going to implement any of his ideas when they all require to spend, spend, spend while also maintaining a major presence overseas, (despite him saying he'll end the war, he did say that,right?)

He's ALWAYS had his ideas out there. Ever visited any of the candidate's websites? You have to know how to read to be an informed citizen, ya' know.

Getting the hell out of Iraq will save billions, as Obama has said repeatedly in his speeches and in debates.

I was just about to post this before I scrolled down and saw your post.

It's funny how he has gotten this rap as someone who's big on ideas and short on specifics. His most recent book was very detail oriented in regards to what he plans on doing if he is elected. Just check out some of his old speeches on youtube. They have a lot of very solid policy ideas in them.

I guess a lot of people just can't grasp that someone can possess both style and substance. The fact that he manages to be genuiinely inspiring to his constituency doesn't mean that he automatically lack follow up abitlity.

It's a simple question and I would look for it myself if I thought I could find a straight answer about it, but he's "changed" his mind so many times, I don't where he stands.

Since you're an Obama expert, why don't you just tell me, or is finding the real answer difficult for you too?

Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.

None of the quotes Bindare posted indicate an increase in military spending. They all very clearly state a decrease in military levels. A gradual reduction in troop levels and limited troops undertaking targeted strikes is not a "flip flop" . It's the only logical way to achieve his stated goals.

Yes, you are. Those quotes means he'd keep limited troops in the region to perform specific tasks as opposed to keeping 150,000 troops in the region who have no specific goals other than to hit arbitrary benchmarks to prolong an increasingly pointless war.
