Shelley aka Siren was always an inspiration to me. I remember doing the USA's in 95 in Denver. She was there. I was so scared & she just told me to just show what I got aka bring it.

Then, I went down to Florida (1996) to try out for Gladiators. Shelley and John told me that I had what it takes, just be patient. I listened & it paid off.

My guess is, whatever it was, is that it had nothing to do with bodybuilding directly.

Of course, knowing that she was with Romano, it makes me wonder if she got involved with the rec drug side of bodybuilding like Romano (Romano wrote about being addicted to Nubain). Then there is the mention of being bipolar which often doesn't mean living a long life.

Wow, as a fan of the sport going back to the mid-80's, this is really sad. 39 is too young...I hope she wasn't in pain for a long period of time.

My heart goes out to her family. Shelley was an inspiration to those with a disability.

I don't worry about the circumstances of my death, but I know I have a large family and friends who have my back as I have theirs. When you eventually kill yourself "Lift4Life", it will likely be a week before the cleaning lady at the roadside motel smells the stench of your body and decides to call for help.
