Youngblood, page cannot be found...........fix the fuckin link, I have never seen the video. >:(

I want to see it again too. But I'm searching around and can't find a working link! >:( :'(

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Jesse+Marunde+218+98&btnG=Search

Don't get too excited, the above link is just one of the searches I did and you can see by many of the links, it's Jesse that did 98 reps with 218bw. One or two links down, there is mention of Sarge doing it, but the point is moot now, IMO.

nope seen it on t-nation. got a great article. though id give it a go. my squat by no means is hot at all or even slightly impressive. 190kg (418lbs) ass to grass. Though i would be very welcome of greater leg size, as many of us would.

also i have posted numerous pics and videos. Not a liar or bullshitter. Just letting the newbs below know that

I heard Tom Paltz did 315 for 50 reps.. That's insane.

Yes, that was my goal, could only get to 25-but  was drug free.

But even with drugs there is no way I could have hit 50 reps with 315.

I don't think I've ever gone higher than 23 or 24 reps for a set of squats in my life.

Anything higher and you might as well take up yoga.

A few of us tried to see how many reps we could get using 2 X 20 kg on each end of a 12.5 kg bar. Total weight was 92.5 kg or a few pounds over 200. Someone did 30 reps and then someone did a few more. I had a go for a couple of weeks and ended up doing 75 reps with that 92.5 which was about my bodyweight then. The most difficult thing was enduring the excruciating pain on the bar on the traps. I never made gains using those high reps because it took too long to do them. If you rested a little between reps you still had to hold the bar on your neck. I did deep full reps where the hams touched my calves. This surely is a mental feat.

Much better for hypertrophy is to work up to a weight you can do for 10 to 15 reps and then do at least 5 sets with that maximum weight. You need big muscles to lift heavy weights set after set after set.

I've also pinched gripped 92.5 kg with one hand on my pinch grip machine. Have it on film and video. That some of you guys are weak doesn't mean others can't exceed what you have done. My best full squat was 470 pounds. I did 8 with 410. I never did get big legs. Not like you see on just about all the pros today.

If I say I did something then that is what I did. I have no need to exaggerate or distort reality and I don't approve of those who do that.

i believe the 470 for one and maybe the 410 for 8 but i don't believe the 200 for 78 ass on heels.

I heard from my friend's brothers uncle that a guy he worked with at the post office in 1998 knows a guy who squats 873 lbs for 8 reps after running the Boston Marathon.

Yeah, Squad, the blokes at my gym didn't believe it either. Just shows what motivation and attitude can achieve. Most humans won't be able to endure the pain of the bar on the back of the neck even with a folded towel there. I always do full squats. Come to my gym and have a go and see how well you do.
