I think I've done 50 reps with 135 at a decent clip. But that took A LOT out of me. I was spent after that, and if I remember right, I did two sets of 50 reps. Might have been 75 reps, I'd have to check my old logs. Either way, I was wasted after that. :-X

i use perfect form. slow negative explosive positive bit of movemnent.

ill link the article on t-nation and when i finish tell yas what i think.

I have done the 2m.20s workout got 36 reps. i also took a very conservative weight due to injury and fact i not used to it. i am modifying it slightly where legs get hit 3x every 2 weeks.

I've done 50 rep on a smith machine.  I truly believe that you're body responds to heavy weight, but anyone willing to throw in a set of two for 50 or 100 reps really will reap the benefits.  I've seen huge benefits (including not being able to walk) by doing very high reps like that.  Its a good idea IMO.

Talk about GH and Test stimulation as well.
Most are all show no go!

if you are going to do a 50 rep set you need to eat something after those 50 reps, you burn about 400 calories

U are on the wrong board. Please move this thread. This section is for bullshit, news and gossips etc...We are grown people here who have learned that training isn't rocket science, grab the weight and curl until u gets tired, rest and repeat. If u not satisfied with the result, take hormones :D

I trained with a guy who did 100 reps with 243 lbs in his prime.
He also did 20 with 200 kg - 445 lbs rougly.

He had gigantic legs back then. Over 30 inches.

I used to hit 315 for 20 reps every workout- total waste of time-for me anyway. No improvement.

Should have just kept 315 at 10-12 reps and keep going up to 500. After 20 reps with 315 it is hard to do many more sets.

You are hardcore.  Seriously.  Between the gas and the burn, I don't think I could do it.  If you get something good from it, let us know tho.

No way.
Jesse Marunde, world famous strongman, did 98 reps with 218#. The last 5-8 were an extreme struggle. It's well documented on video too.
You're telling us, that you "knew someone" that could do 100 reps with 30 more pounds....and the world (let alone the keyboard jockeys here at GetBig) has not heard of him to this day?
Ummm, yeah. As SF would say....

"Bullshit."

When did Jesse do 98 with 218?
I think you're confusing him with his training partner "sarge" who did 98 with 218. The only high repping I've seen from Marunde is 20 with 405 lbs. Which is awesome.
I have a pic of him too, he's not just a "someone", he competed in Finland and in scandinavia.

http://www.marunde-muscle.com/videos...uatX98reps.wmv

From everything I've seen, and searched on, this was Jesse doing it. The above clip takes forever for my computer to load, so I can't say for sure if that's the one I saw. I remember "Shout" by Disturbed (I think that's the band that did it) playing at some point in the background.

But again, the point being: You know someone, and somebody with a pic (big whoop!), that out squats one of the strongest men in the WORLD. And his feat was miraculously never captured on film? Yeah, sure buddy.
In this case, film and photos are two very different things. Because in a photo, you can say "I saw this man do 405 for a thousand reps, his legs are brutally stronger than they look." In a video, it's cut and dried. You can say all you want, but if said person can't do it, it's right there for all to see. You cannot, under any circumstances, say that Jesse or Sarge (whoever in the above link) got a hundred reps once the camera was turned off and there was no more filming. He did 98 reps, and it's there for all of the world to see.
Yet your friend did 2 more reps with 30 more pounds. ::)

I've heard he used to do 225 for 10 minutes. Equally crazy.

I have a friend named Dragan Radovich.  He told me he does 400 reps with his own bodyweight as soon as he gets out of bed in the morning.  He does them everyday.

100 rep squats with a very light barbell can do wonders - twice a week.
