friends dragging me down...
« on: March 05, 2008, 08:10:54 AM »
about 10 years ago there was the click of us in the gym, eventually, who got married, who got injured etc. everyone broke away, some still train and dabble with gear and others just sit in front of the TV.

Here i am, split with the wife 2 years ago and it's like a rebirth. Back in the gym, dabbling with a little juice and feeling good...

the other night i go to dinner with a couple of the boys that used to be into working out, 1 had a chili burger and the other had a cheese burger with fries and i had grilled chicken parm. that was really good, anyway they mocked me and hurt my feelings telling me i was a loser for being so "into it" at 33 years old. i'm not walking around with baggies and otomix, i'm enjoying myself, what's their problem?

Whatever... that's why they'll all gain 40lbs and be huffin and puffin just walking the dog.  They're just jealous and they prolly can't even bang their wives like they used to.

Dude, at 33 years old, many of your friends look like shit now.  Thia is a fact.  They're jealous.  let them have a cheap giggle.  The same way we make fun od Bill gates' haircut.  We're jealous.  Smile at them and laugh it up.  When they need help moving, dont answer the phone.  In 5 years when theyre having back and knee surgery, send them a card with a pic of you shirtless in hawaii, waterskiing with a 25-year old girl.

success is the best revenge.

They envy us youthful, gorgeous looking, free stallions so much that they secretly weep themselves to sleep everyday.

the "hurt my feelings" comment was a hidden message, i know the fellas will be reading this post...that's how it started with them because they seen a couple posts i had made....so i figure i'll start the fire burning...

absolutely, a break up is better than any gear or supplement you can get. we split, i hadn't trained seriously in about 6 years. I was pushing 250 at 6'3 with a 40 inch waist, big and hairy...bought the supplements and at this point i'm 225 with a 34 inch waist and feeling a whole lot better about myself....women are good for something...it really is a rebirth. I"m not one to give marital advice but to the guys out there that are miserable in their marriages and know it's not going to work, GET THE HELL OUT, it's a hard decision to make but once you get settled, you will be reborn. It takes a couple months but once the ladies begin to show interest in you, everything else it forgotten....life is too short to be miserable, these broads aren't worth the stress. One thing i learned the hard way, people don't change, don't marry a chic expecting to change her, she may act changed initially, but much like a rubber band, they snap back and regress to their old selves...l

sounds to me like ur lookin for an excuse to be just like them. the title of ur thread is pathetic..you sound like an experienced gym rat who would know how to stay above these haters. I truely enjoy being fit and taking care of myself and don't give a hating prick the time of day........unless I was just as miserable..either get with the program or join them for chili-burger night!

Nah DOV, you are 100% wrong my brother, if i needed an excuse it wouldn't be my friends, it would be the 50 - 60 hours a week i work, my 4 year old or my Ex...the gym is my outlet, i look forward to popping in my ipod and getting going. i've got tons of excuses if i need them, i guess i should've named it "friends trying to drag me down"...

LoL DOV U ARE 100% RIGHT ....I was waiting for someone to see this... I am the guy that was eating the chili burger...Sad thing is i feel bad for dirty..He copy's EVERYTHING ..My friend notice he even copy's the dots i always put in my posts like this............SAD.. Now he does it..I also feel bad for the guy because he trys n trys to look good but maybe only looked OK 2 times in his life where as i the "chili burger eating injured" guy was never out of shape in my 34 years...I eat what ever i want and never get a big stomach...He likes to rub it in friends faces that he gets hg gear and thinks this is the key for him but it all comes down to how your body is shaped ..Sure anyone can get into shape but when u just dont have it whats all the dieting and cardio good for ..Your heart thats it..Maybe just try being yourself and doing what u want and not posting crap about your friends then maybe u can look good to ..................NOT !     ;)

bring it on is right, i don't have a problem calling a spade a spade, he eats chili burgers and potato sticks and stays lean. i on the other hand eat good, do cardio and yes, i do take hg gear and the results i get are minimal, but then again i'm 6'4" and he's 5'2 maybe 5'3 with heals on, everyone knows its easier to see results on a short guy versus a tall guy. but i won't knock him for being vertically challenged, i will knock him for not utilizing what he has, someone with the blessed genetics that he has should take advantage of them, i wish ihad the ability to eat what i want and stay lean. then again, he has the ability to go with girls that are clean and he chooses the smelly ones, he even asked an old gf to bring over her sh!t in tin foil, ask me what goes through his mind.............who knows..

to quote Deniro in the Chaz Palmintieri film Bronx Tale "Wasted talent!"

to sum it all up, i do what i do because i like to, i am not trying to be better than anyone and i won't be on a stage ever, unless its doing magic tricks, which i'm quite good at...I just can no longer deal with friends mocking me and calling me names because i choose to work out and take supplements. i never said i was better then anyone, it's a hobby and they need to accept that, what would be the difference if i was a gamer and sat in front of a monitor every free waking moment? it's like the guy that wears a tight shirt with no build, no one says anything, then there's the guy who wears the tight shirt and you can tell he works out a little, he gets made fun of that he's trying to look big, why him and not the skinny guy?
